Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen - Hansen vs. Predator
Hello Kickstarter Backers,
Chris Hansen is back on TV with his new show, Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen. With this program, the Fairfield Investigation THAT YOU FUNDED will be broadcast in segments on this show. Chris will also go after various types of predators and report about the latest crimes across the nation. This means that Hansen vs. Predator has a home and place for the public to watch Chris catch predators once more. Based on the success of Fairfield, we hope that more investigations can take place in the future with our amazing and passionate team.
Crime Watch Daily premiers Monday Sep 12. with Chris as the new host of the nationally syndicated program. In Los Angeles, check out KTLA, Sept 12 at 5pm PDT. For more info check out the website or search for Crime Watch Daily on CW website as well! http://www.crimewatchdaily.com. Currently, the broadcast is only available in the United States on select local channels. For those who do not have access to the CW local channels, we are working with Warner Bros. to see if any of the segments will be posted online in a digital format. Until then, tune in to Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen and we will send more updates as we continue to send out rewards to our loyal and patient supporters and update on the progress of the project.
About Crime Watch Daily
Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen is the very first crime show to air in daytime syndication, and it received a Daytime Emmy® nomination in its inaugural year. From unsolved murders to compelling mysteries, undercover investigations and shocking crimes caught on video, the series uncovers the stories happening in small towns across America and turns them into national headlines. The key ingredients of “Mystery, Crime and Drama” drive every episode. Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen’s network of affiliate stations serve as “extended newsrooms,” sharing resources and using local reporters to cover stories in local markets all over the country. Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen is produced by Telepictures Productions and is distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.

I also pledged under the fact that this would be distributed and available online to backers just to find out that this is just going to be a part of a new show which is about crime in general that I won't even have access to watch because I don't have cable. Plus who wants to watch a show daily to see if they show content we donated to see. I could care less about anything else on his show. What a joke and complete waste of money. Just as bad is how once Chris Hansen got this show, we have not had any updates. I know Kickstarter projects can be shady but Chris Hansen I thought would be a safe bet...guess not!

I'd like to see the behind the scenes uncut stuff I pledged for... Is that coming or no?
William on September 12
@Pridit and those of us who do live in the US can't watch it anyway because it shows during the morning when all of us who have the money to pledge are at work.
Pridit on September 11
Excellent. I also pledged under the fact that this would be distributed and available online to backers just to find out that this is just going to be a part of a new US show which is about crime in general that I won't even have access to watch because I don't reside in the states. What a joke and complete waste of money.

And what about the people that aren't in the US, or that don't have cable TV access? How are you going to make this right by them?
Insomniac2449 on September 11
Are you all telling me that I donated money just to get a brief clip of a show that's going on television? I thought the full investigation was going to be distributed online. This is our exclusive first-look? A 55-second trailer? We can't even get the full episode? That's ridiculous. If I'd known that, I wouldn't have wasted my money and time. This is seriously what I've been waiting on for over a year? What a disappointment! I appreciate that you're helping catch online predators, but this is a joke. There are people on Youtube doing better independent investigations without tens of thousands of dollars in crowdfunded cash.
Oh, lookie here. The exact same "first-look" we were just given is also available for free to the public on Crime Watch Daily's website.

So, in other words, I paid to see an advertisement and get spammed with emails for a year? That's absolutely absurd, and it is in no way what I was promised initially.
"Be the first to see the new investigation, enjoy VIP access to dailies, Chris Hansen behind the scenes, and special content that won't air in the actual series."
"This investigation will initially be distributed online. We're targeting the next generation of predators, who take advantage of underage children using the latest technology. We are fighting back using a positive trend in technology by launching with you on Kickstarter; and we're also distributing online to target predators where they hide. We also know that many of you watch old episodes online. This new investigation is the next generation of the show that you loved, and it will be available to you digitally. "
We've collectively donated nearly $90k, and we've waited patiently for well over a year just for this?!? You've gotta be kidding me! Again, if I'd known I was paying for a trailer of a TV show and a year's worth of spam emails telling me how the project would be done "soon", I would've given that money to one of the actual predator-hunting channels on Youtube and not some washed-up schmuck who has to scam people on Kickstarter to get a syndicated show on some third-rate network that won't do a fraction of the numbers that TCAP did.
What a ripoff!!

So will those of us who have no way to watch the show be eligible for a refund then?
I for one would have never donated if i had known it would only be available in the US
Johnathan Drozdowski on September 9
This is total bull.
I get a 55 Second clip for the money I spent, and then get told I also can't watch the show because I'm not in the US?
I paid to be the first to see the investigation, enjoy "VIP" access to daily updates and behind the scenes content.
Now I'm told I basically get none of it because I'm not in the US. It's too late to get the daily updates considering you were incognito for about a year. This is the worst managed project I've ever seen.
Kevin Bernard on September 9
This is such bullshit. Now many of us can't even watch the show we paid for. We were promised a video download. We were lied to.
Jeffrey Karlan on September 9
WHERE CAN I WATCH HANSEN VS. PREDATOR?
This investigation will initially be distributed online.
Damien Martin on September 9
So basically when you said backers would have exclusive access/ first viewing that was all lies? What about people outside the US? People are just going to end up illegally downloading or streaming this show just to see the To Catch a Predator bits
Jeffrey Karlan on September 9
I smell a bait and switch. We funded a digital episode of Hansen vs Predator. Not a brief segment on a TV show that many of us can't access. Major disappointment.
Laurie Morse on September 9
I made my donation based on a program targeting child predators not crime in general. This is NOT what we were promised and I don't feel that our funds were used to at all to fund this new program. What was our donations actually used for?
Greg Russell on September 9
The campaign stated this would be available digitally. I don't have cable. Am I going to have no option to watch this, then? So much for "first access" to the investigation
Chad H. on September 9
I echo Chris's comment... Am I going to have to resort to illegal behaviour to see the work I helped fund?
Chris Heron on September 9
But what about us outside of the US who backed? How are we able to watch Hanson VS Predator?
