I could be thinking absolute nonsense but it has always struck me how women are drawn to cats and men are drawn to dogs.
These two species have been an integral part of domestic human life for thousands of years. The men out hunting would take the dog as a companion and aid in the hunt while cats were used in dwellings to kill mice, rats and other vermin.
When you think about the qualities and nature of each creature it really is striking how those traits can be found in men and women.
My theory is that humans observed these animal's behaviours and took the traits that they saw as positive for survival.
A woman in the house had all day to observe the survival instincts and behaviour of cats, how they are aloof even towards their own kind, reserved, cold and patient in their kills, enjoy playing with their prey before striking but being a good care provider to their offspring.
Men observed dogs being social, working together for a common goal, being loyal but sometimes defending their territory or food with violence.
I'd like to hear any thoughts on this theory and if I'm just talking utter shit, thanks.
