Right now when an anon ID is punished, a percentage of its post count is taken away, usually around 20%. This is a bad system because someone with 5.000+ posts would be able to abuse a lot before that 20% tick did something. I intend to change this system so instead, an anonymous ID has its post count reduced only by 5% as a warning, and instead, it loses privileges (posting images, captcha bypass and making threads only perhaps) for a while, similar to a traditional time based ban. It would be like a less harsh account reset, where I also don't have to destroy someone's hard earned post count simply because I needed a way to moderate that account for the time being. It gives me more flexible options to moderate without resorting to removing thousands of post counts from someone, which is pretty much the same as an account 100% reset. I intend to start coding this system tomorrow unless someone makes a good point otherwise.
