FOR SALE- RARE 1951 Studebaker Champion 3-Window Coupe. This is an original survivor with 54,765 miles. It's painted Studebaker Blue with NEW Gray Interior. The engine has been rebuilt and runs smooth and quiet. Transmission is three speed,on the column and has nice short shifts. Maintains the original 6 volt system. Car does need new brakes. Have the original hubcaps but with brand NEW White Wall Tires. Chrome is original and should be redone unless you want the original look you purists like. Car runs and drives great even on the freeway. My wife calls it the Happy Car because everywhere you go in this it makes people smile, honk the horn or just wave. It's a fun car car to own.
Why is it rare? In 1950 and 1951 Studebaker only made 951 Business Coupes out of the 555,000 cars made for those two years. No one knows how many are left but you don't even see these at car shows. No, you see lots of Starlites and Presidents but not Business Coupes!
The only reason this car is for sale is that I took it in for a debt. Although this is a nice car and fun to drive I'm a hotrodder! When I tell people I'm going to cut this car up everybody goes nuts. So I'm giving you purists one crack at this car before I throw half of it out make a hotrod. It's not a perfect car but it's nice enough to ride around in and put in parades like I do. I just need the money for two, other projects Thank you for considering this vehicle. Bob
