Should Rooney still be our captain? (self.reddevils)

I think it only makes sense to make Smalling or Herrera the captain.

Rooney is the captain when he plays, Smalling when he doesn't. Don't see what's wrong with the way things are now.

When Rooney plays he should be the captain period. No one in the current squad has served the club as much as he has. He has done so much for us and is a great leader, the city game showed us why he is the captain. Why do you thing Herrera should be the captain, love the man but he hasn't done nearly enough for the club to be named as captain over Rooney, Carrick or smalling.

Would be disrespectful to take it away, Smalling or Hererra are good options if they are playing and he isn't. Blind too.

He is the official captain and deserves to be. But being club captain doesn't guarantee a starting position. He is just the go to guy in the locker room and for the manager, usually a club icon/hero.
