I'm hoping you're right regarding a drop-off in performance from the high pressing teams in the latter stages of the PL - City especially - but their strength in depth is great so maybe it won't be as much of a problem.

I do, however, think that if Jose manages to get the balance right and continues without a very high pressing game that it'll help prevent another injury-plagued season, which inevitably will increase points on the board.

I can't see past City tbh, because as you said, their squad depth.
Damn it's frustrating as a Utd fan at the minute. Our squad isn't too lacking in comparison to them, but their first 11 are stronger imo for sure.
I reckon 2 transfer windows are needed before we have a good enough first 11 and squad to compete for the Champions League. We have a massive outside chance at the league based on City dropping off - but then it's almost a toss up between us/Liverpool/Arsenal, maybe even Spurs. Damn it's going to be a good season whatever. Seriously, I hate to see City or Liverpool do well but I love watching good football from anyone, and I've been seeing it all season.
I'm actually watching MOTD again for the first time in years!

Only 2011 Barca could maintain this intensive pressing and won everything. Pep s Bayern was injury prone all three seasons even Liverpool and Tottenham drop form last season. That's the reality except if you find Barca medicine😂

Funnily enough, those are the exact teams that my brother used as his argument. He said Barca were a freak team, and even Bayern have dropped at the end of the last 2 seasons. That maybe because they had already won it, I don't know. Didn't do so well in Europe though.

I don't necessarily subscribe to it, but there have been rumors that that whole team was doped up.

It's one way to play the game, Jose has another.

I think Jose is right in terms of, yes, not playing a high intense press is probably better for fitness over the course of a league, but I don't think it necessarily means injuries abound for Liverpool, Spurs, etc, it depends a lot on the fitness regimes, the training structure in the week.

I thought the English league had a break now?

As far as I know it was up for discussion. But not decided yet. Definitely not this season

There is too much money for it to happen in my opinion. Sky and BT need football weekly to justify the massive outlay they put into the PL.

Who cares about England?

TBH I don't anymore. Our negative press and pundits just destroy any enthusiasm I have for England.
However, if Jose is purposely trying to not play as high tempo football I'm hoping that it will give us an advantage over some of our rivals. On the other hand, maybe we will be too far behind for it to matter.
