Most of the English players looked completely dead at the Euros.
Tottenham completely imploded at the end of the season, a season which they played high tempo pressing pretty much all of. A lot was made of Leicesters tenacity. To me this means they were happy to play without the ball, but made teams work hard in any case. They had no European commitments.
My brother has a theory that Jose seems to believe that high tempo pressing isn't the best way to play. It knackers the players and without a winter break, and the amount of games we have to play throughout the season by the business end, the players are all running on empty.
I'm not sure I agree with him, but maybe there is something there.
Pep and Klopp love that high pressing game. So are there rocket starts going to be curtailed as the season goes on?
Have I just spouted shit for a few minutes?
