Why does almost everyone come to the conclusion that Blind can do as well in a holding midfield role as he does as a LB or CB? He's been excellent at the back because that is where he excels - intelligent interceptions, great at take-ons & good distribution. Asking him to go back to midfield where the game is so fast & aggressive, his lack of pace will be such a disadvantage. He also lacks the physicality to win headers at the centre of the park consistently, & not to mention he can't press as effective as players such as Herrera. And that there is little incentive in pushing him forward. He can already distribute from the back line, why move him forward & give him additional responsibilities that he can't perform well in?

Please guys, if a player performs well, don't just think of jumbling their positions up just to fit all the best players in one formation. We've had enough of repositioning players under LVG. If I must choose, I would share the LB position between Shaw & Blind. Blind can play if we need a bit more defensive cover, & we can use Shaw if the flanks are easier to utilise against teams that play quite narrowly. Blind can still come in & cover either Bailly or Smalling when required. We have enough games to satisfy all the players.
