SROTD Archives: Dozens of redditors have worked with Subreddit of the Day over the years. Sometimes those features slip through the cracks as writers come and go. We dig them up and get them posted and to honor the subreddit. This is one such feature.
29,337 pilots hopping into their Titans for 3 years!
Many of us redditors are gamers and most of us have heard of the game Titanfall. You are playing as a pilot either controlling a "Titan" (Huge robots made for fighting and blowing up stuff) or as pilot on foot, which as opposed to the Titans is faster and more agile.
If you're interested in the game, then this subreddit is perfect for you - everything about the game goes here from news, to discussions and funny videos and it has a great community. You're having trouble with the game? Ask here for help! You want to share a cool clip? Do it here! You want to find cool people that you can play? /r/titanfall is the right place for you!
The subreddit was born Jun 6, 2013, at the moment the game was first announced and was only slowly growing but shortly after the game was released it boomed and got many subscribers. Lately the game has lost some players and the subreddit lost a few subscribers.
I hope to get a few people back in the game and asked the moderators a few questions about the past, the present and the future.
Read the answers here:
1. Tell us about yourself ! Who are you, why do you like modding /r/Titanfall?
/u/Remi_M I'm a 19 year old dude from Norway. I play on PC and am a part of hosting some of the tournaments that take place on here.
/u/kklown I'm 29 and from Canada. I enjoyed playing Titanfall for quite a while on Xbox One.
/u/EagleBurn My alias is EagleBurn and I have a passionate dislike for Pepsi products. I enjoyed Titfanll immensely and I joined to help out on the CSS.
/u/mallarddbro I'm 21, played Titanfall religiously for quite some time and pretty darn hyped for what Respawn has coming up.
2. Who/What is your favorite Titan, Pilot, Map and Game Mode?
/u/Remi_M My favourite titan would be the Stryder due to its manueverability. Favourite map would be Wargames. An incredibly beautiful map that is also well designed gameplay wise. Favourite game mode would have to be Last Titan Standing. This game's unique feature is titans and the titan on titan combat is so much deeper than most people think it is.
/u/kklown My favourite Titan would be Stryder as well. I really enjoy its fluidity. I like to run n gun which the Stryder allows. My favourite game mode is LTS. The game is more interesting when there are no respawns. Favourite map would be have to be Angel City. I never got tired of it even though I played it in the beta extensively as well.
/u/EagleBurn My favorite Titan is the Ogre because I love punching people across the map. My favorite gametype is Hardpoint because objectives always make a game better.
/u/mallarddbro Favourite titan would be Atlas - That may be a tad boring but I like the best of both its speed and armour. Favourite map has got to be Wargames. It is beautiful in terms of visuals and concept but also the pit allowed for some top-notch private matches! My favourite game mode is the patched CTF - I think it really brings out what's great about the game.
3. What features do you really want to see in Titanfall 2?
/u/Remi_M Community hosted servers with a lot of customization would be at the top of my list.
/u/kklown More game modes definitely. Especially something like Search & Destroy.
/u/EagleBurn Fully customizable Titans, similar to Chromehounds
/u/mallarddbro (The ability to rename your loadouts as well as private matches on launch and a spectator mode too.) I think it really needs some non-PVP element, not necessarily a single player but some fun coop experience.
4. What was you favorite submission in this sub?
/u/Remi_M This would be my favourite submission.
/u/kklown This post - I've had such encounters as well.
/u/EagleBurn I can't find it, but it was in the first few weeks of Titanfall and someone posted a very detailed and constructive post on how the game needs improvement. It hit all the right marks.
(Editors Note: If someone finds it, post it in the comments!)
/u/mallarddbro Here's my favourite post. Who doesn't like lego!?
5. What games besides Titanfall do you really love ? Why?
/u/Remi_M My absolute favourite game besides Titanfall would have to be the Mass Effect series. Fun and varied gameplay with lore heavy science fiction is right up my alley.
/u/kklown Call of Duty - these games are just fun to play (mainly Treyach iterations). It's easy to turn on and play a couple of matches just like Titanfall. I really enjoy the zombies mode as well.
/u/EagleBurn Mount & Blade: Warband because it has a rich multiplayer and community. I only play CS:GO so I can say "gg ez" in chat after winning and read the reactions.
/u/mallarddbro Rocket League is taking up all my time right now. It's great for both the times where you have 15 mins free as well as several hours. It's actually somewhat annoying how much it pulls me back because I never play anything else it seems. Although, COD4 has had a few hours played recently.
This is my first feature for the Subreddit of the day and I have chosen /r/titanfall because I also played it a lot some time ago and I actually started to play it again after this feature. I'm 15 years old and I'm from Germany and I like gaming and well computer stuff (but I'm not a nerd or something)!
