[Post-Game Analyzing] Our off the ball movement improved and players covered more distance, which resulted in a huge victory. (self.reddevils)

i had a tactical analysis about our off the ball movement few days ago, and i was impressed by how different out team became in terms of distance covered and off the ball movements.

Everyone in the team increased their distance coverage and was more effective off the ball than our previous games.. for example..

Zlatan made great runs followed by Pog's chip and others' through balls and etc.

Lingard made so many runs, which is a very positive thing to see. They weren't all successful, but that's how a team gets to the top. ex. Barca: see how many runs they make whether they are successful or not. It's crazy.

Blind had so many great passes and crosses. and kept overlapping while having mahrez in his back pocket

Our one two- touches and passes have improved and our Gunner esque tikitaka resulted in mata's beautiful goal (not to mention lingard's flick here)

i saw players being more active and more mobile - which may be a coincidence or was meant to happen as fella and rooney the two players who dont generally move around much were not present in the game.

Overall, it was a great game to watch. Probably the best first half we've had since Fergie left.

Yeah our movement was key. Looooong term, Martial and Mkhi playing of Rashford is the way to go but what I'm loving is that we have players with the ability to change their positions on the pitch with ease. The way Mata, Pogba, Herrera and Ibra found their groove, with Lingard and Rashford causing havoc with their movement was awesome to watch.

You just can't have Ibra, Rooney and Fellaini on the pitch at the same time.
Against a really tough team I'd rather have Carrick and Herrera sitting in front of the back 4, with Pogba in front of them.
Ibra and Rooney want to occupy the same space, and Ibra is much better at the job. Guile wins over size, just look at City and Barcelona. We have the players with the guile, they just need to be trusted for a run of games.
Very happy with the result, I just hope Jose keeps this style of football going, and only relies on at most one of Fellaini or Rooney. There is never a time they should both be on the pitch together, and I can't see any situations where either should from the start of the game. There are always better options than those 2 starting, but as impact subs and squad players they have their uses.

It was a big improvement but I think there's still huuuge improvement to be made in stretching defences. There was a time where zlatan got the ball and lingard had about 60 yards to make a run but he never went for it and made himself available for a square ball.

I watched the arsenal game yesterday and the pitch looks massive. All our players seem to play very tight. I hope mkih helps stretch defenses.

As good as yesterday was, we're still behind arsenal, Liverpool, city and spurs for attacking threat and cohesion.

Our movement off the ball and general performance definitely improved, but the huge victory comes from Leicester's shit defending on corners.
