I posted an article about an hour ago about Phi Phi. I didn't know it had been posted before. I didn't make any comment on it, I'm not a Phi Phi supporter (see flair), I think she's got some major issues looking at her behaviour. But that doesn't mean she should be attacked or threatened online. That was my entire point.

But no. Within minutes I was downvoted to hell and being sent snarky comments about how I should just shut up, the threats aren't on reddit anyway, prove the threats are real, etc. If even one person had said politely "this has already been posted", I could get that. But no. I was condescended to, and basically told that nobody gives a shit and it's not our problem anyway.

Excuse me? I may not have seen threats on here, but I've definitely seen insults. And if someone in your community is being a shithead, you don't say "Oh but it's OK because they're only a shithead at other people's parties". The hell guys? OK, people don't like Phi Phi, but that's not a go-ahead on being vile to people. For those demanding evidence, I advise you to go speak to the people who demand evidence that a girl was raped because "he's a nice young man and he wouldn't do that". You'd get on well. Death threats are not a thing to be joked about, reality show or not, and demanding evidence of them is ridiculous.

I don't give a fuck if the threats are coming from reddit or not. I don't give a fuck if the article I put up was a repost. I don't give a fuck if you support Phi Phi or not. What I care about is people treating each other like decent human beings. What I have seen on this sub is not that. I will not be responding to any comments made on this post, nor will I be interacting with other posts on this subreddit. I'm sick of the hypocritical bullshit.

But how about, as I walk out, the people in this community take a look and make sure they're not being vitriolic asshats before they call someone else out on that. Especially when you don't know the full story.
