I want to pitch in some non-Hollywood Conan facts here.

I've read the entire set of Conan books by Robert Howard. They are pure red pill stuff. Robert Howard was not only a writer, but an amateur boxer in his free time. He wrote the Conan pulp novels back in the 1930's when women were kept out of all things important and men handled shit instead of twisting around in knots to give women illusions of inclusion.

When you read one of the novels, you realize how manhood used to be defined. Conan is completely independent. Women only appear as prostitutes, witches, and scheming underhanded princesses in the Conan novels.

The movie rendition, as fun as it is, is tainted with the bullshit Valeria love story. In the real Conan novels, Conan straight up ditches a bitch in the middle of robbing a treasure from a ruined city. He has no sentimentality about the possibility of the woman being killed by the creatures there. There are very few novels in which Conan actually gets laid, and in those cases, the women are basically using him, and he eventually abandons them.

In the movie Conan is trying to build a kingdom. In the novels, Conan doesn't have his head tied up in the idea of being king. He goes wherever he can find loot, and is not just a sword swinging hill bandit, but also a sea pirate, wandering mercenary, and burglar. Eventually he does become a king, but it was a product of opportunity and chance rather than a lifetime goal.

In fact, the only "strong female" character is a female pirate queen who services a boatload of black-skinned native warriors. She only keeps Conan around as her number one service stud. Eventually, Conan walks out on her.

Other than that, Conan is a stone-cold treasure snatching gut-cutter who wrestles the occasional cave monster, and slashes his way through ancient wizards who use dark magic to try to fuck him over.

In short, movie Conan is pretty tame and watered down. And it definitely is more blue pill, what with all the captain-save-a-ho action.
