The press deliberately under reports how Rooney has become a big pile of wank because he is singlehandedly responsible for United's poor performances (what it's like to watch rather than all results) and the affect that is having on United's reputation (i.e. final relic of United golden generation of players, going down with the ship) is a much better story than United having ongoing, expected success. It might be the voices of Rooney's 'friends' who defend him/refuse to acknowledge he's shit but the agenda is the media's. Maybe I'm just being cynical. Discuss.
