The most talked about story in football world this week was about a 3-loss streak of Manchester United. After a promising start with 4 straight win, Mourinho’s honeymoon phase at the biggest club in the world has come to an end. Of course, the rumor has it that “The Special One” has lost the dressing room.
It’s the 7th game of a long football season and we haven’t finished September yet and there has been a potential riot in ManUtd’s dressing room?
I’m quoting from a recent Yahoo Sports UK’s a
Those at Manchester United are now in mental disarray. Some of them have asked senior, recently retired professionals from the most successful era at Manchester United under Alex Ferguson, and have been competely confused by the suggestion that in order to avoid criticism for poor performance, they should endeavour to play better. This idea has been described by the current squad as, ‘out of touch with the modern game.’
What makes me surprised and angry at the same time is that “Those player who dared to ask was SURPRISED with the respond from possibly an unknown former ManUtd legend”. If that’s Roy Kean then he should punch them in the face.
I really don’t get what those privileged man are thinking. They are earning a weekly wage worths a year of a working class man’s income. They’re cushioned by the media, the agents. They get the first class seat on plane, VIP entry at every night clubs. And now when their performance slump, those players are complaining about the manager, who is considered one of the best ever in history of football.
Manchester United is in decline since the retirement of SAF. No doubt about that. And making it great again is the biggest job in the world. It’s bigger than anyone’s enormous ego. So please, get back to work, stop whining and play football.
Next Story — How to create the next poker boom
Currently Reading - How to create the next poker boom
I’m new to poker and in so many standards, I’m a fish. But I like the game and I do hope our community will thrive as it used to be.
Since the “Black Friday”, the poker community has constantly waiting, talking and predicting the next poker boom. People said, it’s gonna be big after it’s legalized again in US. New Jersey has done it, now Pennsylvania and hopefully California will follow within this year. They also look to China and Asia as highly potential place.
But no I don’t think so. The next poker boom is not gonna happen.
For half a decade, despite various marketing campaigns, including many sporting icons (Rafael Nadal, now Christiano Ronaldo), Pokerstars could not stop the slow downfall of online poker. The online poker traffic has been contracting 10% yoy for several years after “Black Friday”.
Overutilizing of HUD, stiffer poker game, not many fishes around makes online poker no longer a lucrative game. The regulation process for online poker in US is under so many obstacles and will not come easy. And please don’t count on China communist for gaming. I used to live there, I know.
So instead of waiting for another outlier incident like Chris Moneymaker, who is now a regular Daily Fantasy Sport player, poker world needs to adopt a more sustainable approach. Go back to its root, the recreational players. People are leaving poker because they feel they’re ripped off with HUD and unfriendly professionals. In the end, it’s a game. Even Tony G said “Professional poker player is not a serious credential”. Recent development of Unibet is a good move and should be emulated:
Look, it’s fun, it’s engaging and no HUD! Not even for displaying stats or collecting info.
I myself am playing on Unibet Poker and really feel satisfied. Unlike on Pokerstars, I do have feeling of playing with human, another 9–5 regular guy looking for some fun after work. Unlike on Pokerstars, it’s like another cunning guy trying to cutthroat me under those ankward nickname.
So this’s how the next poker boom will happen. No, it’s not gonna big, but it should be healthy.
Bourne, the series of a former CIA assassin and has lost his memory due to a near fatal accident. The 03-part series has redefined action movie genre in term of smart storyline and especially shaken camera action sequences. After a hugely box office success and critical acclaimed with Bourne Ultimatum in 2007, the duo director Paul Greengrass & main actor Matt Damon called it a quit, saying Jason Bourne has done his duty.
Nearly a decade later, Bourne is back and a lot of dedicated fan (including me) was counting days until its release date, which is 29-July-2016 in Vietnam.
It seems like Jason Bourne had a solid opening week as it’s accumulating $60mil box office revenue in US. The problem is its mixed review. 55% Rotten Tomato, 7.5 on Imdb and sliding. Many people would say my review is too subjective due to the fact that’s I belong to Bourne’s loyal fan base. But I believe every voice deserves a chance.
First, These are what I loved about this movie.
The action, the pace, the intensity, the shaken camera, the close range fighting, of course. Everything is still there. As one reviewer on Imdb said:
“If you’re the sort of person who can turn their brain off for two hours and watch wall-to-wall action and explosions, then this film will have you in dreamland.”
I could not agree more.
Me and my girlfriend had to glue our eyes on the screen because the movie is so intense. Every 10 seconds new development emerged. Is that what an action movie is suppose to be? This movie has achieved all that. The last fighting scene was dark, gruel and it’s between Vincent Cassel and Matt Damon for god’s sake.
And here come another good point about Jason Bourne. The cast. This movie has a solid cast. It’s rare that you could find a better cast with Matt Damon, Tommy Lee Jones as main characters and Vincent Cassel as a villian.
Alicia Vikander did quite well in this movie, even though not so impressive. however I’d love to see more screen time of Julia Stiles.
Now, it’s the mixed bag, things I don’t like and believe it could be improved.
The main criticized point is the story line and here’s why.
Unlike all other 4 Bourne movies, this movies has no suffix. Not Bourne Ultimatum, Bourne Legacy or even Bourne Referendum (someone on the Internet is really sick of Brexit, me too). It’s just Jason Bourne. And it’s no coincedence. Bourne movies has been known as loosely based on original Robert Ludlum’s novels and this one is no exception. In fact, it’s not based on any of those. If you call this movie’s a spin-off then it is. The storyline is written by Greengrass and editor Christopher Rouse. They decided to add a typical Snowden scandal as a way to update Bourne and it’s absolutely understandable. However, the way they handle it along with Bourne’s own quest is not smooth and I’m afraid this script was written in hurry. Even director Greengrass said:
“I was skeptical there was one to be done, I was skeptical I wanted to do it and I was skeptical it would hold up with the others.” I thought, ‘Maybe I’ve been too negative to an old friend”
Nobody comes to the theater watching Jason Bourne care about this Snowden-like thing. Even Bourne doesn’t give a shit about it while following his quest. However it’s mentioned quite a lot during the movie and it’s like you’re watching 02 movies at once. Incoherence is the most basic mistake an editor would make and sadly it’s in this movie. And I believe they should stick to Robert Ludlum’ novels. They’re great and deserves respects.
Secondly, the appearance of Bourne. It has been years since the previous Bourne movies and I know he does age but adding too many wrinkles and grey hair to Bourne is not ideal. Somehow it does bother me and make me feel sorry for Jason Bourne himself. In real life, Matt Damon has not aged that much and the disguise is intentionally. But to me, they did it too much. Just my 02 cents.
In conclusion, This Jason Bourne movie is still a great one and does deserve your hard earned money for a weekend night out. Most of the critics comes from a “comparison” with previous movie and I don’t think that’s a good way to do critic for a movie. Indeed, every movies should be viewed independently and criticized on its own. “Jason Bourne” is a great action movie on its own but every critics are now taking it along with previous trilogy and making it worse than it should be. Don’t follow them, try to make a judgement by yourself. Bond has lived up for over 40 years. We need Bourne as a counter approach for doing PROPER action movie.

Obama loves to speak. IMHO, all of his speeches deserve a spot on any textbook about public speaking. But now, he also gained a reputation for making things work. American will have to mention his two terms many times in the future.
On Tuesday, the Congress passed fast track for his child TPP. It doesn’t mean TPP is done but it does hit a massive momentum to the stagnating negotiation. Other countries will look at this event and believe in America’s commitment in this so-called 21st century trade deal. To America, the deal will reserve a spot as the locomotion engine for the world’s economy in long term. The American will be gratitude for what Obama did today.
At the end of the week, same-sex marriage. Yes, American is not the first country to legalize same-sex marriage. But it creates the biggest magnitude. Yes, it’s dividing this country. But it doesn’t hurt anyone. Admit it! Instead, it helps the administration and Obama gain trust from an rising power in America economy: Sillicon Valley pirates! Apple CEO, legendary angel investor Mark Cuban. Countless VIP now believe Obama in specific and Democrats in general are on their side. Brilliant move, Mr President!
This week is a defining week in Obama’s presidency. From a “communist” president with mulling achievement, he has made his mark in American history. His legacy will last long
