Are football players now becoming too soft?
The most talked about story in football world this week was about a 3-loss streak of Manchester United. After a promising start with 4 straight win, Mourinho’s honeymoon phase at the biggest club in the world has come to an end. Of course, the rumor has it that “The Special One” has lost the dressing room.
It’s the 7th game of a long football season and we haven’t finished September yet and there has been a potential riot in ManUtd’s dressing room?
I’m quoting from a recent Yahoo Sports UK’s a
Those at Manchester United are now in mental disarray. Some of them have asked senior, recently retired professionals from the most successful era at Manchester United under Alex Ferguson, and have been competely confused by the suggestion that in order to avoid criticism for poor performance, they should endeavour to play better. This idea has been described by the current squad as, ‘out of touch with the modern game.’
What makes me surprised and angry at the same time is that “Those player who dared to ask was SURPRISED with the respond from possibly an unknown former ManUtd legend”. If that’s Roy Kean then he should punch them in the face.
I really don’t get what those privileged man are thinking. They are earning a weekly wage worths a year of a working class man’s income. They’re cushioned by the media, the agents. They get the first class seat on plane, VIP entry at every night clubs. And now when their performance slump, those players are complaining about the manager, who is considered one of the best ever in history of football.
Manchester United is in decline since the retirement of SAF. No doubt about that. And making it great again is the biggest job in the world. It’s bigger than anyone’s enormous ego. So please, get back to work, stop whining and play football.
