This is astounding. I am completely dumbfounded. After an atrocious display against Watford, Rooney somehow found his way back into the starting XI.

He was poor the entire first half, and when Jose made substitutions around the 56 minute mark, I was sure he was going off. Nope. Memphis, who was decent, was taken off, and he took off Schneiderlin, who was also decent, not Rooney.

This is as an abomination. If Rooney finds himself into the starting XI again, after his atrocious performances against Watford and, now, an 11th-place, League One side in Northampton Town, I will be disgusted.

Are there really outside forces forcing Mourinho to play Rooney? This is inexplicable to me.
