1959 Berkeley Se-492. If you ever wanted a unique British sports car, this is it. The Berkeley has a fiberglass body with aluminum bulkheads and box sections making for a very light vehicle, 750 pounds on average. Not a perfect show car, but a nice car.
It is powered by an Excelsior Talisman 2 cycle motorcycle engine, 4 speed transmission with reverse, front wheel drive by chain to an open differential. This particular model is a 3 cylinder but a piston broke last year so I set it up as a 2 cylinder. I still have all the parts (minus 1 piston) to go back to the 3 cylinder.
All mechanicals were rebuilt over the past 3 years and is in driving condition. The interior and cover are marine vinyl, more durable than the stock vinyl. When I assembled the car I did not paint it, it was fine for a driver. Other than the color and the stripe this Berkeley was put together using all original components.
I have a lot of spare parts including another 3 cylinder engine in good shape for rebuild that can be discussed if someone is interested in spares The spare parts are NOT for sale until after the car is sold. It is on the road now so needless to say I do have a transferable registration in my name.
