In Defense of Mourinho (self.reddevils)

With the recent uproar in the media about Mourinho's "scathing remarks" and "shifting blame to his players", do you guys believe the blame should be more on the players or the manager?

I took a look at the late goal we conceded by Zuniga again. Luke Shaw is defending Amrabat down the left flank very closely. Pogba is ball watching and out of position. Same with Fellaini. Smalling is way too close to Baiily and should be more tightly covering the man in the box. Once the ball is passed from Amrabat, Shaw has a quick look at Zuniga completely left alone on the edge of the box. For some odd reason, he doesn't run to go mark him. Instead he starts to jog. To bloody jog in the box in a late game. Absolutely baffling.

What Mourinho said post game was completely honest. There is no "he just came back from injury, go easy on him" these are men. When you mess up, there is no reason to coddle them when you are asked a question. It's not Mourinho's fault he decided not to go mark the open man, no tactic can account for that.

Again this is just my opinion. What do you guys think?

I still fail to see what is causing such a reaction from people. The media I get, it's their job to spark controversy (or in some ways, make shit up) but it's not even October. Have we been bad? Oh yeah. But it would be totally different if we hit a slide of bad form in, say, February when the title race really heats up. Don't get me wrong, I was as disgusted with our play against Watford as anybody, and I do think some selection-changes may do some good. But you'd think after seeing how some are reacting to it that we'd just lost our 10th straight. This week is going to be crucial and I might end up eating crow, but there's not a bone in my body that doesn't think we're going to turn shit around viciously hunt for the league title.

EDIT: Also, Jose's remarks on Shaw we're completely honest. It's not like he said, "he fucked up and he will pay next week, that bloody cunt."

Shaw wasn't marking closely at all. He was actually giving Amrabat so much space and time instead of closing him down and applying pressure which is what Josè said. And he was spot on.

I don't know why the mods are deleting all the threads. It just leads people who aren't on the sub all day to come along, think they have a unique opinion and submit a new thread.

Honestly, I don't feel Mourinho was too harsh. He wasn't angry or bitter, he was matter of fact about the mistakes we made. Doesn't bother me really.

Not all is up to him, but part that he control failed big. Yes he cant control players and they make mistake but it is just overall play that is bad, his selection is questionable but on other side u have point players just not delivering so these things go together.
