Closest one is probably about 6 hours away, but I suggest you mix in with the Habs crowd. Wear your Leafs jersey, and I guarantee it'll make for an interesting evening.

Yeah OP just mingle with the crowd. Sometimes bars show Leafs/Sens games when habs are not playing.

Yeah there's one on Sherbrooke and Rene-Levesque. It's all painted in blue and has a large 1967 Stanley cup banner right at the entrance.

There is no leafs bar. Best chances is going to the hôtel bars near downtown where you might sit next to someone from Toronto staying in the hotel for a few days. Otherwise you can go to station des sports or other sports bar, they have a lot of screens so you might get to see the leafs game even if the habs are playing. No one likes the leafs around here

Going to McGill,

Eww

from Toronto.

Eww

Looking for some good Leafs bars

I don't think those exist in Montreal....or anywhere.

You might not like the Leafs but who really fucking cares if the guy's from Toronto and is studying at McGill? Grow up

Is called a joke.

No joking allowed in canadaland aka r/montreal because it's 2016 and multiculturalism also applies to hockey teams.

Lmao at my post being down voted. Fine I guess I'm also open for a bad/mediocre Leafs bars. Just want somewhere I can watch hockey without listening to how Shea Weber is totally a better fit than Subban.

I doubt you'll hear anyone say that Weber is a better fit than Subban.

Wait, what's wrong with McGill?

McGill has a very different ethos and vibe to the rest of Montreal, and it rubs a lot of people the wrong way. E.g., mostly anglo vs mostly franco. Lots of elite rich privileged people vs lots of people who feel they've been fucked over by the dominant Canadian society for a long time. Mostly non-Quebecers who stay in the McGill bubble and never learn anything beyond St-Denis vs. Quebecers. Plus, frosh activities don't really win friends in the local community.

The Leafs will only potentially be good when you finish your degree so you're good. Enjoy the Habs in the mean time.

Right because now is the time to jump onto the Habs bandwagon. I'd rather watch Auston Matthews every night.

People are laughing at this, but there's a Habs bar in Toronto. It's called Kilgours, and it's dope.

Exactly. Pretty sure theres a bruins and pens bar in Toronto too.

Yeah you're not going to find a leafs bar in Montreal. Judging by a post from a couple of years ago, your best bet is peel pub or station des sports. Those are massive establishments, with tons of tvs. Quality of food and drinks there are questionable but options are limited.

As for getting tickets, you can do the lottery on the Canadiens site each month, where they release a couple of hundred tickets. Otherwise, you'll have to pay for scalped tickets.

How much does a scalped nosebleed habs-leafs ticket cost? Really want to go to a game at the Bell centre and need to know how much I should save up.

still very expensive. These games against the leafs are usually ''premium'' games so they cost more than your game against the blue jackets on a monday night. You might be lucky if you are alone, single tickets are way cheaper and easier to find

It's not that hard to get face-value tickets at the onsale. Just have to keep an eye on the website and get into the waiting room as soon as it opens. Seats in the 400s are about $80, maybe closer to $100 for a Leafs game.

Every Toronto Montreal game you're competing against Toronto fans who come up and stay the weekend and say it's still cheaper than going to the ACC. I don't see how that's possible unless they've got a suite and are sharing or something, but anyways expect to pay face or more.

Dude I'll upvote your post cause you gotta win something. Just kidding. Hope the Leafs do good this year so you Habs can crush your dreams in the playoffs. Kidding again (about the good year). Just mix with us on a saturday night it'll be fine since we are not in Boston.

Around here, the leafs bars are just as popular as the Bruins bars.
