IGG is stopping the most obvious ones , at least when they get a lot of complains. They are starting to get a seriously bad reputation , so anything helps I guess.

But will the backers receive their money back? this is the 500000$ question.

I doubt Skarp will voluntarily pay it back and I don't see how Indiegogo can make them. My guess is that IGG told Skarp to take their pound of flesh and beat it.

For the "skarpers" it will be a 300$ lesson in "think before you hand strangers on the internet your money", and most of them will never want to touch any crowdfunding campaign again, wether they're serious or not since they can't see the difference. Maybe it's for the best , but in the whole, the whole crowdfunding industry will suffer.

When it comes to IGG, they'll try to soften the blows of those obvious scams , by stopping or removing them well after the damage is done, maybe even removing the ones which are too obvious or ridiculous. But the money is too good, so my guess is that they'll continue to earn as much as possible with what's left of their reputation for as long as possible, their are still many suckers on the internett who need their pockets cleaned dry by those clowns.

For us at Shittykickstarters, watching those scampains is like watching a trainwreck in slowmotion, reading the comments of the backers in the forums while eating popcorn...

Some of us will pay 1$ once in while to try to warn a few of the backers, but more and more of the scampaigns are removing this possibility....

I tried to warn people and actually got a number of private "thank yous" as they were able to get a chargeback on it in the early days.

Skarp seeded people in the discussion , and when that did nto work in the light of hard evidence , they began a systamatic removal of peoples comments from view. The first level of this was any derogatory comments were only able to be seen if you had already contributed.

Then they outright edited and deleted peoples comments, THEN refunded those (like me ) so we could not comment at all. CNET did another review of the shaver more recently and found it to be the same crap they peddled to Kickstarter. And so the battle was on since WILL KING (king of shaves) suddenly became the front man (argument from authority) face of Skarp.

In the interview he plainly said , "no updates and no refunds .. what so ever "

He has not posted a comment in a while and has refused to comment at all if he is still on board with SKARP since evidence was shown how impossibly stupid this shaver was. And it would not , could not pass any FDA/CDRH much less produce a shaving result of anything better than 5 hairs per pass.( normal shave head sees 20-25 hairs in simultaneous contact with the blade )

And now they are gone.. I wonder what -wake- (Skarp employee of the year) will do now.

IGG actually taking a product down because it's a scam?

They did with Triton, but only after a huge uproar in the media and people like thunderf00t went after them.

I think a lawyer was willing to do a case on contingency against them as well and filed paperwork. SKARP did not make as much money but the latest "update" after three months . well .. utter bullshit.
