Do yourself a huge favor and workout at a hardcore gym, preferably one that has chalk and plays ACDC.

That means they have an actual stereo system that isn't broken because nobody has given a shit since 1975 when it was first installed. That automatically makes your gym fake and gay.

I'd say a better guideline is:

  • looks built before you were born

  • all equipment has at least 80% iron/steel content by volume edit: except bumper plates, those are ok

  • the only chicks look like they might have a clit bigger than your dick due to all the hormones

  • bonus points for not having air conditioning except for a door that's open in the summer and looks directly over a seedy car shop where you're half convinced they tear down stolen cars for parts

Powerlifting gym. Grunt and sweat

[–]Senior Contributor: "The Court Jester"GayLubeOil[S] 28

This is all very true. My gym had the absolute shadiest lot.

shit i remember going to this gym with my buddy to just check it out and see what they have equipment wise. the dude at the front desk had me signing shit for personal training sessions before i even had a look around the actual gym. i was like dude i just want to look around and see if i even wanna come here in the first place. he wanted me to give him like a 20 dollar retainer that i would get back a week later i was like dude i just want to look around lol. they had like 1 squat rack and 1 cage in the corner, 30 rat wheels, and 400 isolation machines. oh and a place that sold pizza, smoothies and chocolate bars right before you head out the door.

i think garage or basement gyms are the natural order, but a broke college student can't exactly afford that.

Im being a dick, but learn to weld, if nothing else itll save you a couple hundred on a bench and its a pretty useful skill down the line. If you are adventurous throw in basic woodworking and metalworking as well.

what's funny is i have a red pill dad who knows all the basic manly shit cuz he was raised in a traditional household. except he's a chad who was basically never there and never gave a shit and just did his own thing, unless he was having a bad day then he'd beat me and tell me i was worthless. i learned literally nothing from him. i believed in "toxic masculinity" literally because of him, not because of feminism. i was blue pill specifically because i thought things like feminism meant men like my father didn't have to exist. then i woke up and realized how much responsibility my mother had over the situation, and how she was an enabler. she could have found a decent man to marry and have kids with, she could have divorced after he turned out to be a fucking psychopath. he couldn't even hold a damn job so it's not like she was depending on him as a provider. she just willingly stayed with a degenerate and fed him and put a roof over his head. it's just sick how such a situation can even exist, both of them should be in an institution.

[–]Yer_a_wizard_Harry_ 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

Learn to mine ore from the earth, then you smelt that into an iron alloy worthy of construction into a bench that even mighty Thor would be proud of

How is that being a dick? That's fine advice in my opinion, not to mention delivered in a civil manner.

Nah dude. I train in a gym like that and it is horrible. Get sweaty as fuck after squats/deadlifts and it fucks with your energy for the rest of the session. Give me all of the above and good A/C any day.

I don't see why all that is necessary. What's wrong with a normal gym? The results are the same.

This guy was downvoted but it's true. More important than what your gym looks like is what you do there.

To expand: if the gym closest to your house isn't ideal but you can fit that into your schedule 4x per week instead of 2x, that's the logical choice regardless of the decor. I don't talk to anyone when I'm working out anyways, I'm focused on what I'm doing.

On a second read you might find my post was a little bit in jest.

I don't care what my gym looks like of course, I care about equipment and culture (which usually go hand in hand). That description fits fairly the only gym in my vicinity that's equipped for serious lifting, and filled with people who are there to lift i.e. people who for the most part won't occupy equipment while having a 30 minute chat with their friend. I've tried plenty of gyms and I keep going back to that one because it's where I can work out with maximum efficiency. The rest is just gym mythology that's funny to engage in.

[–]Senior Contributor: "The Court Jester"GayLubeOil[S] 4

Because normal gyms are filled with Normies. Normies don't yell push it bro when spotting you. They also don't add more weight and tell you to do another set. This is 100% what most dudes here need.

Thats my gym, in fact, most of the 'girls' are trans, and bigger than Arnold.

They have no stereo equipment just a bit speaker with a mini mp3 they plug in to put ACDC all day long.

Wow! You went to Vince's Gym too? I fucking loved that place.

Yeah. The best gym I went to met this but I moved away sadly.

Full of old motherfuckers that were jacked as well.

except bumper plates, those are ok

Yes, but they are only necessary for Olympic style weightlifting. Weights are not to be dropped just because you can. A man is able to put a weight back down in a controlled manner.

I looked at two of these types of gyms in my area and they had very specific hours. My gym has "no chalk" signs but I'd rather have the freedom of the 24 hour access and just ignore everyone while blasting metal in my ear buds. But you either bring headphones or you're listening to black eyed peas on repeat.

Great post. A general principle for identifying a great gym is workout attire, the more expensive workout clothes are in a gym, the worse it is.

If it has a snackbar or smoothie bar, treat it like a single mother and just walk away.

Yes, I am a Planet Fatness member. Yes, it is geared towards exactly what you should not be.

No, I am not proud of it. However it's the best tool I have at my disposal at the moment.

I agree with all points in the post, and if I had more money I wouldn't be a member there. As it stands though, I push past the normies and would put my physique up against anyone's because I am self motivated. But damn if I had another gym...

Workout Anytime is dead center between my house and work. At 2 am when I'm off work, all of the stupid UnderArmor yuppies are gone and there MIGHT be two other people there. They are usually either military types or construction workers.

Yeah, it is wall-to-wall machines but there are two press benches, a squat rack, a Smith machine, and 5lb-120lb dumbells with incline, flat, and decline plain benches.

I load up the squat rack, set up the benches how I want, and superset.

Fuck your spritzer smoothie, bitch. Ima get my swole on.

TL;DR - At a crap 24/7 yuppies gym, work out in the wee hours of the morning.

If only GoodLife hadn't bought every fucking gym franchise in Canada, and put them under the same banner. Then again, being able to train at any club country wide is hella convenient

The gym I go to literally has one of the biggest McDonalds in the whole area next to it. Funny sight when you cycle home after a workout and you see all those fuckers standing in the McDrive already at 4pm.

I put 500 grams dry in a pot full of water and let it aside overnight. Then i just boil them the next day and put it in separate containers. Don't forget to rinse the beans before boiling.

AYE!! YO!!!! <This is an exclamation like OMG
Show Boo Lee-ow (ow sound like the OU in ouch) < This means I can't take it any more. Make sure you stretch out the Lee-ow as if you are in pain.

Exaggerate your actions, they will get a kick out of it, then for the one taking your money, you will say the following.

When I first graduated college, I lived in hispanic neighborhoods for a few years. In my area, that's where the cheap places were.

The supermercados are amazing. No-bullshit produce and meat, 30-50% cheaper than the chain markets in the white part of town.

I still go there weekly. I can't bring myself to pay $25 for a jug of detergent when the SAME one (same brand, size, scent) is $9.99 at the spanish place. Why pay $7.88/lb for steak when the same cut is $4.79/lb at the spanish place?

If you get in with the local spanish deli, they almost always have drugs. I don't mean heroin, I mean antibiotics like amoxicillin. If you can't afford the doctor visit and the RX script, you can just pick up a 10-day supply for like $40. They even throw in some chicken noodle soup if they like you.

Same thing in Germany. Turkish neighborhoods have better and cheaper meat, groceries and rent. And there's nothing different from white parts of town, other than a few burkas here and there.

And there's nothing different from white parts of town

Here, there's a massive difference. You can tell just by the housing, businesses, and cars, that you've entered the hispanic area. It's certainly a tier lower and an entirely different aesthetic.

The people are all cool though. They thought it was hilarious to see a white boy mowing his own lawn. Got along with everyone. Friendlier than my neighbors in my new white hood (I bought my first house this summer, no more renting in sketchy places).

Eugenics and social engineering are needed to combat eugenics and social engineering.

3 years are nothing.

Plans for generations.

One must have full control on what goes into his body and mind. But first, one must acknowledge that such control can be exerted.

Doable but not feasible for everybody since they have to worry about practical things such as: pay the bills, shit at work, keep the bitch quiet, buy the next shit, or they just don't care.

Doable but not feasible for everybody since they have to worry about practical things

Being an über alpha is not for everybody

A society with only alpha's wouldn't be able to function anyways. Everyone would try to outalpha each other.

I would out alpha you more

Dichotomic thinking is not useful in this case. It's about tendencies. There will be always someone more alpha and someone more beta.

Men work in hierarchical systems.

See also: contextual power.

In some hierarchies you are at the top, in some others you are under someone else. But your inherent 'alphaness' remains the same. And on the long run, your 'alphaness' will decree in how many hierarchies you are at the top, and in how many you are not.

Examples? You work for someone else, but you command at home. Or, you might command a business and you command at home, but there still are contexts in which you don't have full power (business negotiation, interactions with the government, etc.)

Your 'alphaness' or 'betaness' will decree how much power you have in the hierarchies your are in. Worker with more beta tendencies? In a negotiation your 'betaness' won't help you negotiate for a bigger salary. Worker but more alpha tendencies? You guess it, it will be less easy to extract a lower salary from you.

Husband with more beta tendencies? She will take more power in the relationship than if you were a husband with more alpha tendencies.

The OP is about the macro vision.

It's about shifting the alphaness or betaness of entire generations.

I'm not saying it should be done. I'm not saying how it should be done. And I'm not saying you should care about it.

If you see it from the point of view of the single person, let's say from your point of view only, it is clear that you want everybody else to be beta and you the only alpha (hey, isn't this the definition of communism?).

But, reality. We live in groups. Society, and how it is ruled, has a great impact on the power you can have. Example? Women had little to no power, then society rules have changed, and now they have more power as a group which influence the personal interactions of every woman.

You can have men acting alpha in general with a few on top of the rest

i always laughed at the people who went to the big gyms where you see women and skinny dudes. i also shared the view that "local gyms" are the best, there you see all the big dudes lifting and throwing iron like there is no tommorow with those old, almost rusted machines. also local gyms charge 30 bucks/month whille these big chains of gyms charge 100+/month

also, if the gym owner looks like a war veteran who has been through more pain than you can imagine, that´s a pretty good sign you are in the right place and besides, he will be honest and won´t bs you

Reading TRP hardcore for a year helped me alot, but i would say having a RP job environment achieved the same amount of help in 1/10 of the time.

TRP best hint to life would be to learn to spot and adapt to RP places. TRP is better learnt by observing natural high level game.

If you want the best from TRP, search for it in real life. RP places to live or to work do exist and will help anyone in TRP need immensely more than this forum can.

I mean this for people that started very far from TRP views and had no chance to play them out in the real world alltogether. If you are half way you probably can just absord TRP knowledge and be fine.

For all the ex-hardcore BP minded, socially anxious guys, the best way to get over it fast is to breath RP air.

I have to make do with base gyms for the next handful of years, but whenever I'm home I work out at two places: my kickboxing gym and then the local powerlifting gym. There's a couple guys there who squat over 800, like 5 machines if you count the reverse hypers and belt squats, and then prowlers, sleds, tires, stones, yokes, and more out back. Oh yeah, they're 30 a month, no contract and play only metal and rap.

Can confirm, test spikes in this environment.

You sir, are an inspiration. When I feel as though I cannot do one more lift, I imagine GLO above me, looking disappointed in me. When I see a cheesecake, GLO appears and waggles his meaty, ham-sized finger at me.

Bah. Good wakeup call. Been lifting for 7 years and I've been stalling on bench and squats precisely because I'm getting too comfortable in the gym. It's like going to a spa surrounded by old people, so it's already my space. I should go back to feeling like shit after every workout.

Time to hit lmao4plaet and stop this 4 month cut.

Supermarket Hypergamy

I hear the Ukrainian market has great looking produce that keeps being put on the shelf. The Russian market has produce but only for lease. Top notch American produce is for rent only.

Any advice on which market to browse for best results (bang for the buck)?

In my area, the asian markets have the best produce, seafood selection, and prices.

[–]Endorsed Contributorsqerl 2

Asian markets are amazing. 20 different types of mushrooms, more seafood than an aquarium, and a wide selection of stuff you've never seen before.

[–]Senior Contributor: "The Court Jester"GayLubeOil[S] 2

This is heavily dependent on your location. Where I live middle eastern, Asian and Hispanic markets are all great. Hispanic are definitely the cheapest.

Eastern Europeans have good deli meats, cottage cheese and chocolate. Their produce is usually overpriced.

[–]Endorsed Contributorsqerl 5

A Polish market by me has some of the best meats I've seen. Excellent selection, and especially around holidays when they load up for increased demand. Very fresh.

[–]Senior Contributor: "The Court Jester"GayLubeOil[S] 11

A lot of Americans have an aversion to setting foot in ethnic markets. So hopefully this post will convince TRP to put Eastern European meat in their mouths. No homo.

Some solid advice here

I lift at the local high school gym now. Its not hard core like Rikers Island but its 10 percent the cost of a Health Club that has spin class and a snack bar with recovery shakes

I definitely thrive off the younger kids energy and am completely undistracted.

There is a hardcore gym in Wimbledon. Every major city has a couple hardcore gyms.

Nice, but it's an hour away. The hardcore gyms seem to be more in the outskirts. Here in the center are only spa gyms or tiny overcrowded prisons.

Start your own. Have shitty floors, showers that are disgusting and no air conditioning. Name it after something masculine like a rhino or some kind of firearm. Open late and stay open later. Put posters of old western movies and WWII aircraft on the walls, including German ones. Have half price memberships for any soldiers who've seen combat overseas. In the space where other gyms would have a juice bar, set up a poker table or chess set. Try to get a cross membership program going with a local boxing club... if you join the gym you get half price on boxing... if you join the boxing club, half price on the gym.
