Café Society is Woody Allen's latest film. It stars Jesse Eisenberg, Steve Carrell, Kristen Stewart, and Blake Lively.

The film's main plot is that Jesse Eisenberg's character moves to L.A from New York and works for his uncle played by Steve Carrell. Carrell's character runs one of the biggest agencies in L.A. He is also cheating on his wife with Kristen Stewart's character. Kristen's and Eisenberg's characters begin to fall in love after Carrell ends things with Kristen's character. They even get engaged.

But, when Carrell's character changes his mind, Kristen's character now starts to wonder who she should be with. Who does she choose? The rich and powerful character that Carrell plays? Or the nice young man who is in love with her that Eisenberg plays?

She chooses Carrell's character of course. This is a great and subtle example of hypergamy.

Later in the film, Eisenberg's character ends up running a high class night club in New York. He marries Blake Lively's character and has a kid with her. When his uncle and Kristen's character come to his night club for a visit, he and Kristen's character begin to have an affair.

While this film is no Annie Hall, Manhattan, or Match Point, it's a good film. Woody Allen is always very honest about women in his films. And this one is no exception.
