[NJ] Got my girlfriend and her family deported. I deeply regret it, help! (self.legaladvice)

My girlfriend of three years and I had a falling through when she cheated on me with a close friend. It was a mutual friend that told me what was happening and after confronting the woman I was deeply in love with she admitted to the cheating. She admitted to doing it a year into a relationship and since she was very drunk (I was too, we got drunk before I brought it up) she was very honest about everything.

Well, I couldn't control my emotions and I spent a week snorting speed/drinking hard alcohol. I experienced amphetamine psychosis, took some xanax to take the edge off and while I was high I decided to call immigration services to report my illegal immigrant girlfriend as a way to get revenge. Last night, a month after this all happened, I've been informed that they're in deportation proceedings and that their house had been raided (as I also reported this neighbor (my girlfriend) was a heavy drug abuser. They found marijuana and LSD in the house so she's also facing jail time before they deport her.

I did not want this to happen and dont know what to do! I feel deeply guilty and regret acting on my emotions, I love this girl and it wasnt fair of me to be selfish. She did wrong but that didn't merit me ruining her and her family's life.

Is there anyway I can take back what I said? Cancel the charges? please help me, I cannot stand the reality of what I've done.

At this point the only real way to undo this would be to get someone (Like the President) to pardon the whole family. Good luck mate, try rehab for your drug problem.

There is no way you are getting her out of detention. Her A-file has most likely already been completed, and she is now awaiting prosecution. After that she'll be on a plane or bus back home.

You have nothing to do with this case anymore. The authorities have found an individual committing crimes and will deal with it as they see fit.

Find a therapist or some rehab and fix your substance abuse habits.

You can't derail the train you started. You should get help for your alcohol and drug abuse.

She did wrong but that didn't merit me ruining her and her family's life.

If all you did was report the truth, then yea it did.

Not much you can do at this point. You could try to hire a lawyer and see if anything can be done, but at this point it's probably a waste of money.

If you want to help her you can get her an immigration attorney. Speaking from experience, it won't work. She will never be eligible for a green card with a drug charge. She can get a work visa at some point but will eventually exhaust her time.

And someone brought up an excellent point. They may reduce the drug charge to allow her to obtain an H1b in the future if she is willing to rat out some dealers.

I'm not a lawyer but had an employee with an intent to distribute 3 decades earlier that was eligible only for a work visa. He's going home because he has no more options in the US.

Okay now everyone is saying that there is nothing he can do, but can he marry her and get her a greencard, or no? If somehow the drug charges didn't stick I mean.

Also, you should probably not do drugs/be around any as she will probably report you too.
