Plain and simple. We've really been lacking lately and something needs to change. Who are your starting XI and what formation would you set up?

I would run a 4-1-2-3 Shaw (LB), Bailey (CB), Blind (CB), Valencia (RB), Carrick (CDM), Pogba (LM), Mata (RM), Memphis (LW), Ibra (ST), Rashford (RW) we need better passing and movement in the midfield and I believe Carrick and Mata could create more chances passing-wise while Rashford and Memphis can run down the wings

Definitely would love to see this, maybe even pushing Blind into the CDM role which accommodates Smalling to start.

What I would like to see vs Leicester in the weekend is

De Gea

Valencia Bailly Smalling Shaw

Felliani Carrick Pogba

Lingard Ibra Rashford

Would be different if we had no one injured but at this point I don't know our best eleven when everyone is fit. Also I say Lingard but it could be Depay aswell, I want both of them to start in the cup game and whoever impresses hopefully makes the lineup for the weekend.

Not looking too far ahead, but for the game against Leicester (not Northampton), I would like to see the following line up:

4-1-4-1: De Gea Shaw (Darmian if Shaw's out) Blind Bailly Valencia Pogba Herrera Rashford Mata Young Ibrahimovic

Substitutes: Romero Smalling Darmian (Riley if Darmian replaces Shaw) Fellaini Schneiderlin Lingard Rooney

Rationale:

  • Bailly has looked much better beside Blind than Smalling at present. Blind's intelligent play should also reduce errors at the back after shipping two against Watford from sloppy positioning.

  • Herrera to partner Pogba in a dual B2B role, with his combative play an asset we need to ramp up our game momentum. Fellaini has done decently so far, but against Leicester we will need someone more than a ball winner.

  • Mata to play as a roving #10 to improve our distribution in the centre of the park. He's had his critics, but you can't deny he's good enough to play there & his creativity plus passing will be an asset if he's on form.

  • Young to replace Martial out of injury concerns. Without Lingard or Mkhitaryan whom are both believed to be still injured, he is our next best option. That being said, he didn't look out of place against Watford after being subbed on. Deserves a chance given how he duly displaced ADM from the starting lineup under LVG.

Carrick and Rashford could easily slot into the team as well
