Look I know we have very split opinions about Memphis and his place in the team here, one thing that we do agree on is that he has a talent. We saw that in his early performances against Brugge and he has the attacking mentality that the team is lacking. Especially with Shaw and Pogba now joining the left hand side with him

He knows how to take on a player.

We have seen over the last couple performances that the team has not shown nearly enough motivation and energy moving forward in attack. We have seen in his performances last season that Memphis knows how to attack, he plays direct, fast football and plays with the goal scoring mentality.

Alright sure a common trait with these goals is the quality of opposition, but we saw throughout the season he was playing with the mentality of cutting inside and trying to get the ball towards the goal using his speed, strength and skill.

We saw the best of both Memphis and Luke Shaw (pre-injury) last season when they were overlapping and playing each other through. With Pogba also pushing up the left hand side towards them it could allow for Memphis to create space for Pogba in the middle, go himself or find the ever-overlapping Luke Shaw to try and create more chances. Memphis has the energy to run for days and is built like a brick wall, with Martial injured and Mkhitaryan potentially back it could be time for Mourinho to change it up a bit to break this little run.

Memphis could be the man that breaks open Pogba as well, Martial has been drifting central and suffocating the space offered and forcing Pogba to drop or go wide but with Memphis staying wide and THEN cutting inside after receiving the ball or potentially staying wide and displaying his crossing ability that he showed during this game against Turkey for the NT
