We understand the nature of public figures is such that, pursuant to standing precedent on reddit, information may be spread once they are identified in the press (see violentacrez situation during doxxtober), however please avoid posting information such as home phone numbers, home addresses, the schools of said person's children, or bank account information.
Reddit policy does not allow the posting of information simply because something is "publicly available". Please abide by the judgement of the moderators, who have dealt with numerous situations of a similar nature over the years.
This should be common sense, but for the safety of the subreddit the reddit precedent regarding which information related to a given public figure may be posted will be enforced strictly.

I used to be someone who thought that the whole Hillary email scandal was just overblown and a whole bunch of BS. Now that I've seen this I can say there is no way in hell I am voting for Hillary now. I cannot believe that this isn't on the front page of every news outlet, this is scandalous beyond anything I've seen in recent history.

    Him, Gowdy and Jordan have been excellent. I don't necessarily agree with their politics and I know that Gowdy slipped bad during Benghazi, but they are doing more than the FBI and DOJ will ever do on this case and, despite Cummings and the rest of the Democrats protests, it is clear that there is favouritism for Hillary and her accomplices in this situation.

    yep - /r/The_Donald had it first, but it was deleted b/c site-wide ban on doxing, which is weird since /u/StoneTear's likely identity is critical to the story but it was never 100% proven. (just a very high likelihood)

    No it is 100% without a doubt proven. That post had all the info and it was extremely damning.
    For instance, he posted pictures of his his Pontiac Aztec on the account, and Paul has the same vehicle. They had it Google mapped to his house and everything.
    He also had a post about losing his dog that he had posted to the subreddit for the city he lives in.
    There was a post he mentioned his job for the government.
    There was a post that he signed off as "-Paul".
    You can't expand the comments on web.archive.org unfortunately. So it only shows some comments. I won't link directly to the thread. Just the landing page. Click September 19th, there are 6 saves for the page. Just from a quick glance, the save from 13:00:15 seems to have preserved some of the info I mentioned above.

    The story is being suppressed on Reddit because it contains personal info about a user (doxxing) even though that's the whole point of the story. Very convenient for them to remove it. Reddit admins will threaten /r/conspiracy mods soon, and this post will also probably be removed.

    I'm pretty sure the rule is as flexible as the admins and mods decide they should be at any particular time, but I remember one big specific exception was made in the past--violentacrez--and the rationale given (also by the people defending adrien chen for outing him) is that if it's a newsworthy story, e.g. something that is or will be covered by mainstream journalists, it's not doxxing. Even if you're the first one to release the person's name (the chen defense).
    This story would count, by any rational measure. It may continue to be removed as witch hunting anyway. Put it this way, if the story was about Trump (and his IT guy), it would definitely be considered an exception and allowed. And please don't mistake me for a Trump supporter, I have nothing positive to say or think about him, but the media bias and the major social media bias (reddit, facebook, twitter) are blatant and disturbing. They're being done under an "ends justify the means" approach--the tactics are unacceptable but the end goal (hillary not trump) makes it ok to do it this time anyway. (their apparent reasoning, not mine)

    Scientific theories are very different than everyday "theories" used in common language. When someone generally has a "theory" about something in science you would call that a hypothesis. It only becomes a theory when substantial evidence points toward a conclusion etc.
