          Nope, on at least both Android and iOS you can factory reset without a password by either putting it into DFU mode for iOS or booting into recovery with Android. That said, at least with iOS devices if it is iCloud locked you will essentially just be holding a brick unless you have the iCloud password.

          Forgot to mention that to perform a factory reset within the phone options itself requires a passcode on iOS and SOME Android devices, though on Android it usually has to be set up manually, and is often times a PIN code not related to the unlock code for the device.

People are targeted for theft in Central Park every day, and you are always advised to look out for your surroundings if alone.                                       I've posted this before but the game died because it was just like other MMORPGs that had no end game.

                                      • You love the start of the game as its unique and different.
                                      • You do about 80% of everything in the game.
                                      • You get bored because there is no extra desire to play from a bad end game.

                                      Niantic failed because they made battling in the game really bad. They think it was because leveling up wasn't fun (hence the buddy system), but in reality its just a bad fighting system that needs tweaks.

                                      • It's to easy to take over / lose your gym. 1 pokemon per pokemon at the game. Six pokemon to take over a gym with 1 pokemon means you will almost always lose it. That removes the fun in owning a gym.
                                      • Fighting is based on just tapping the screen as much as you can or following a pattern if you really want. That is boring for people to play. The game needs to be turn based with a timer. Just up the power and its way more fun.

                                      With no fun at the end game for players there is no desire to level up your pokemon / getting stronger ones, which is all you have near end game.

                                          Obviously not good but how dumb do you have to be to think you can walk around dark city areas at midnight, especially when your weak and playing pokemon go on your phone, literally no street smarts atall. If its dark, dont go roaming around with your possessions on display in dark areas with no foot traffic.
