This won't be another post about how poorly Rooney is playing, because we already all know that. Instead I want to share my opinion on one of our main issues. With the absence of Blind in our last 2 games, it has been absolutely dreadful to watch us try to connect our midfield and strikers. Blind consistently provides a pass that beats 4 and 5 players out of the back, and now we don't have that. Smalling and Bailly aren't awful passers, but not having a deep passer such as Carrick, Blind, Bastian, or even Ander and Schneiderlin is a huge problem. I think it is crucial to have someone that can play a penetrating pass out of the back because playing a few slow passes every time does nothing for us. Being able to play Ibra's feet so he can hold up the ball and allow us to move up the pitch is crucial. We lose the ball too easily too often. Yes we still have a problem with Shaw not getting froward enough but yet somehow managing to always get toasted on the left (I still think he's great) or Rooney being more useless than a cone, but this is a problem that I think has an easy solution. We need a player that will sit deep and control the passing, preferably along side a hard worker (Fella, Morgan, Ander), and then let Pogba roam. I think that is how the 4-3-3 will be effective for us. Also we need to cross the ball more, but that might be in a different post!
