A possible tactical shift (self.reddevils)

After yesterday's game at Watford yesterday, the 1st thing that occured to me was the system wasn't working, players underperforming is not the only issue.

  1. 4-3-3: Play Carrick/Blind between Pogba and Herrera, as they're easily the 2 best passers of the ball in our squad. The lineup in this setup would be:
    De Gea
    Darmian/Valencia - Smalling - Bailly - Shaw
    Herrera - Carrick/Blind - Pogba
    Mkhi/Lingard - Ibra - Rashford/Martial

  2. 4-4-2: Put Ibra+Rashford/Martial up front, with 2 proper wingers. Lineup:
    De Gea
    Darmian/Valencia - Smalling - Bailly - Shaw
    Mkhi/Lingard - Carrick/Blind - Pogba - Martial
    Ibra - Rashford

Rooney hasn't shown enough this season to warrant starting in any of the above 2 setups IMO. Thoughts?
