Do you ever get the feeling that you want to be selfish and vote only for your interest and gain, and yet the moment one of your friends who's Muslim breaks down in front of you. Crying about how she feels that her freedom is in danger. You realize that your right to vote is not only for your own gain but for the future of millions?

I've never been emotional about voting. I vote strategically, for whatever will gain the most progress. My dad taught me to never split the vote. We are only strong if we stand together. If we're divided we're weak and we could lose all the progress everyone who's come before us strived so hard to achieve. All the groundwork they have laid could disappear. So you're not only voting for the future of millions, you're also voting to keep the things people did in the past to get us to where we are now. All that hard work could be lost. All the progress we made, gone.

My wife is a first generation immigrant from a Middle Eastern country and she said in the last year the number of strangers who have asked her 'where she's from' has increased and been pretty constant. Even though she was born here and never left the county, but they're still like yeah, yeah, but where are you from originally?

Even if Trump loses, his rhetoric has had the effect of like when you get a new car and suddenly you see that car all over the place. All these racists are on the look out, and it's giving them confirmation bias that suddenly there are more 'foreigners' here than they'd ever noticed before. It's kinda scary.
