I was a lucky Kickstarter backer who actually got a cooler before they started selling them on Amazon. I've had a little time to go through the cooler and these are my thoughts.

First and foremost; I would never pay more than $300 to $350 tops for this cooler. I received mine at an even lower discount for being an early adopter, but I just can't see paying $500 for this type of cooler, especially it being from a fledgling company, with proprietary components. There's a bit of a mystery as to how long support, parts, and warranty work will be available. As time passes, and the company solidifies its place in the market then obviously it will be a safer bet. The original retail was originally around $300, that I can see. Being a niche and unique item, however, they will try to command a premium for such a different gadget.

The cooler itself is very large with a decent amount of room, and with that largeness comes mass. She's a heavy girl empty. Put ice in it, and you will be thankful it has wheels.

It appears solidly built. I'm not too sure how the wheels will fair loaded and on a sandy beach. To me they don't look they will work well. No beach test in my neck of the world at the moment unless I'd like a side of hypothermia with my Vodkarita... I'll update this review in the summer when I can do a beach test.

It has a luggage style telescoping handle which feels a bit flimsy to me, and I'm wondering how all that sliding will fair once it's exposed to beach sand. There's also a handy gear tie down built into the handle to stabilize anything you'd like to carry on top of the cover, on top of the 40 pounds of cooler, minus ice. Again, thank goodness for those wheels.

So I was asked to write a review of this product and here is my most honest opinion:

As everyone already knows NONE of the Coolest Coolers were received in a timely manner, they did send us updates/excuses the entire time and that was good. When I finally received mine summer was over but there were still a few ore opportunities to use it so I wasn't too upset.
1. This cooler is SO heavy empty, I think over 40lbs
2. The cutting board feature is useless because if you had ice you want to keep separate it won't be if you use the cutting board, once used it would be dirty and you would not be able to put it back.
3. The compartment in the front is super flimsy and the door almost always comes open when anything other than the speaker and wine bottle opener are in there. You might be able to get a small phone in there Samsung S5 fits, barely.
4. It really needed mesh compartments on the sides for misc items like phones, cables, sun screen etc
5. The wine bottle opener is about the quality of one you could get at the dollar store but it is in the same color as the cooler.
6. We took it to the beach, Siesta Key, there is about 1 block a beautiful fine sand to traverse to get to the beach from the parking lot. Here is what was in the coolest: 6 bottles of water, 8 cans of soda and a 12 pk of coronas and 1 bag of ice. This cooler was so friggin heavy it took 2 ppl pulling and 1 pushing to get it to the beach. We had 2 beach chairs on the cooler at first but quickly realized there was no way we'd move the cooler until we lightened to load.
7. The wheels have no kind of tread on them at all so basically we were just dragging a full cooler through the sand. With all the weight on the wheels I am sure they will not last.

I got the blue one because I didn't want to show the scratches or dirt. Plates are blue as well so it may not be easy to see food to clean but so far so good,
1. I tested the batteries and I have two which I'm happy for. I can charge a phone at least 3 times dead and the iPad twice. The blender was used to make milk shakes and I made them at least 5 times and ran the blender a very long time and still got 1/2 battery left. Blender is easy to clean but remember it's a left hand thread to tighten after being cleaned. I seen some others jam there's cross threading to the right and fighting to get it apart. It's stamped on the part but hard to read. The rubber washer doesn't remind me of lasting or misplacing by mistake. This is for the bottom of the blender. I hope they plan on making parts available at some point.
2. The cooler is heavy because it's very well insulated. As for the wheels, it won't glide easy if the sand is soft and not packed. The low diving tires and with no bottom clearance will not make this impossible. They needed to have had at least 2.5" clearance weight compression from the ice and other goodies weight. I've tested with weight in the cooler with sand and the wheels never turned in the sand while the bottom dragged across a path of 10', with this being said, be prepared to drag it. They needed to do more testing without a doubt on just this issue. I've already got other wheels on order to fix the issue the should allow me to glide across non packed sand. I'm a real product tester so that's why I'm Intested all this stuff. Concept is right for CA but not for many other sand states with soft sand unpacked sand. CA sand is more packed then MD sand so I've been to both states and already know this answer being a beach bum all summer long.
