Games are not hard or challenging enough in my opinion. If a game doesn't give me any meaningful challenge to overcome then I might as well just watch a movie.

This is the most bitter post I have read in quite a while haha. How terrible are you at FPS games?

How much experience do you have with first person shooters? Wolf TNO, while very challenging at times, is rather forgiving at the start.

The one major difference I can think of between TNO and other less challenging shooters is the lack of regenerative health.

git gud bruv

For real though... Wolfenstein was satisfyingly difficult for me on the hardest difficulty. The fact that you got frustrated on Easy mode is embarrassing. I don't even see how that's possible. I don't think games are too hard, I think you're just really, really not good at them.

I think challenge is kind of overvalued. What's important is that a game is the right difficulty for you, so that you have the perfect environment to learn in. Which for match-based games is a 50% win rate. It's one of the reasons why I want scaling difficulty in more games.

That being said, the inherent "fun" that comes from games (not the cheap dopamine tied to skinner box, psychological manipulation stuff) is the learning aspect. And learning is always some kind of "work", that's how you gain anything from a game in the first place, otherwise you're kind of just killing time.

I can certainly understand your sentiment, although I've never found myself in your situation, because its very similar to how I've tried to introduce games to people who've never played games before. There's something of a barrier of entry to video games that's easy to forget about when it comes to getting used to playing them and using controllers/mice and keyboards effectively.

Games like these aren't going to go away any time soon because the primary demographic of gamers can play them fairly easily. The best advice I can offer is that, since you already bought it, keep trying at it. You will get used to it and when you do a whole new world of excellent games can open up to you.

My mentally disabled cousin beat Wolfenstein on the second hardest difficulty, and he's not even a big fan of games. Sounds like you struggle with basic video games. Do you have a nephew or little cousin that could help you practice?

wat? I almost never play FPS whether it be single player or multiplayer. Picked up Wolfenstein for the fuck of it on a Steam sale and had no troubles, especially not so early on. You must just be bad at video games in general.

Without sounding rude, is it possible the wall of moving in a 3D space is blocking you? It could be worth looking into some platformers or sidescrollers, they could be a bit easier.

This is like getting mad at a movie for not being able to understand its story or themes, or being mad at a book because you cant read.

Games are supposed to offer challenge, even if its from pathetically easy (wolfenstein daddy mode isnt far from this) to soul crushingly hard. Games are already much easier then they were 20 years ago to accommodate for a more casual audience, or newer/younger players.

Asking to change the entire medium because you cant handle it is selfish, you are the problem, not the games.

This gave me a good laugh. I feel you though, I had the same exact experience with that game. Although it wasn't that difficult for me I just wasn't getting any enjoyment to push through at all. good thing I pirated it.
