It's already been fixed. The light from lightning was casted only on trees and bushes, not on everything.

Dear robi29, i don't know if it's fixed, but i saw it clearly, in the day time, in stormy weather, lighting was casting on trees and bushes only. And even this is not the main problem. I don't think that lighting is supposed to cast on anything in the daytime. Not so visually at least. :)

Dear authors, listen, there is another bug with underwater. More deeper i'm diving more brighter it's going (in the nighttime). So, it seems that the most darkest underwater area is right under the surface and at the bottom is very bright as if it is daytime. Very confusing, you know. :)

Not so long ago, one of the biggest mod was released for Grand Theft Auto V, called GTA5 Redux. Their announcement on gaming sites, promising a change every aspect of game and new experience was hyped a lot of users, waiting for trying this. When 16th September 2016 appeared, surprisingly website was taken down, giving a trouble to download the mod. Now you have a question - why am I see this? Im very disappointed of actions of Redux author.
Josh Romito didnt learn a bit from his earlier attempts to mod Rockstars blockbuster game. I guess you remember why Miracle of V and Pinnacle of V were removed. If you dont remember, I'll remind it for you his mods had a parts or even whole files from the other authors without permission, marked as done by Romito. What happened with GTA 5 Redux?

FILES WERE STOLEN AGAIN!

For the third time, he ripped off my work, a mod called VisualV. Now youre thinking am I doing a nonsense indictment just to hate him or something like that? Nope, there strong evidences which Ill show you right now. If you dont belive download both mods and compare yourself.

One of the files is visualsettings, related to various lights settings for the game, motion blur etc. One of the taken parameters is heightReflect.width and heightReflect.height. Their values are 140.00 and 225.00 used in VisualV, Redux has identical values.
13axzRC.png

Another parameters - heli.swift2.cabin.useDynamicShadows and plane.luxe2.cabin.useDynamicShadows. Vanilla game has disabled shadows in Luxor and Swift vehicles, value is 0.0. VisualV enabled them, so value is 1.0. Redux has them enabled too.

rryOw1H.png

dark.useNormal, parameter unused in vanilla, we added this to enable normal maps for environment which use that type of lights (mostly small spots like light above doors etc.) Think what Redux did. The same goes to car.headlights.useDynamicShadows.
LTZStQI.png

Lets move to the different file weather.xml. File defines a weathers, particles attached to them and clouds assignment. VisualV introduced few new types of clouds settings exclusive for this mod, used mostly in sunny weathers. NOclouds is one of them, set for NEUTRAL weather. Josh grab them and assigned for the weather called CLEAR.

T20Z6FRh.png

cloudkeyframes.xml defines a cloud colors and influence of sun lighting. NOclouds was copied from VisualV to Redux.

113xZKR.png

Next hbaosettings.xml, file used for Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion settings, comparison vanilla file, VisualV, Redux.
upVzcV7.png

Now were going to main core of VisualV weather files, named w_*.xml, e.g. w_extrasunny.xml. At the first look we see the same sorted parametrs, even with assigned hours, although Redux has a vanilla hours when in VisualV they were changed.
Look at the light_dir_col_r/g/b at 6:00, values for VisualV are 1.0000, 0.2000, 0.0000. Redux used 0.9960, 0.1960, 0.0000, pretty similar, huh?

xqa7Cjm.png

<ped_light_col> also has extremely similar values.
k3RzSNp.png

Sky colors, just compare it:

Qq4a2yBh.png

<sky_sun_col> and <sky_sun_disc_col ripped with tiny changes.

pPwGZGG.png

The same with <fog_haze_col>

n3lMvzC.png

<reflection_quality> unused in vanilla game, added to VisualV to make a slightly improved vehicle and building reflections, also in Redux. And <far_clip> set on 15km.

jMWtUBT.png

Look at the w_neutral.xml, should I say more?
NyHZKIol.png

Sky related parameters.
7zOx8Pnl.png

Et cetera, et cetera. Could you explain it, Josh Romito?

I actually thought it was using VisualV when I watched the trailer of it...

It looked really similar.

That sucks :s

Also, GTA 5 Redux looks like sh*t...

LA Roads and VisualV do just fine, perfect. *even more when using Bank_HWLD modifier lmao*

@CP That's why I and more people keep using your VisualV mod, it's perfect in all ways. I just took sounds, handling and screen effects of Josh "mod", that are the only things I saw interesting.

Funky [email protected] I knew there was smth. wrong with the Romito's mod.

You guys are the best. Your mod provides the most natural picture for this game.

Grazie. God bless you.

p.s. @BlackScout Thank you for the info that Romito's mod looks like sh*t. Well i don't have to waste my time installing it.

That is strange. The light pollution looks fine in your game. On mine, it looks like it did before. I think OpenIV isn't installing some of the files. I have had that happen on many occasions.

@Slash_Alex The looks are really artificial... That`s why I said it :p

It's different from what VisualV aims for. It's full of Reshade presets and dark overbloomed graphics.

I am not suprised at all actually, first trailer looked god awful with strong filters and the release trailer entirely different very much like visualv just a whole lot more contrast, i don't get why anyone is impressed by redux it's like a parrot puked nothing looks natural.

@nkjellman Don't you forget that light pollution depends on the weather. There is no light pollution in clear weather and a lot of it in smog, fog, rain, etc.

@robi29 Dear robi29, pardon for bothering, but am i the only one who has the problem i mentioned in one of the my previous posts?! Thank you.

God bless you.

Again ? I didn't know Redux was done by the same guy.

I posted this page on my FB page... you guys are going an amazing job and you know it, everyone is basing their ReShade configs or whatever with VisualV.

If both of you weren't here, there wouldn't have been any much progress in V's graphic modding.

It's hard to do more darkerness in underwater deep, because the timecycle modifier is for days and nights too. It's called "underwater_deep". So we can do more darker, but it'll be darker in days too. We'll try to strike the right balance between days and nights.

I installed the Romiro's mod. I feel like i'm fooled. BlackScout is right, it looks artificial, rococo, oversaturated. Weather effects?! Bullsh*t, too unnatural. You know, there are a lot of disadvantages in this mod, so i'll be brief, it looks like smth. odd, as if someone wanted to include the most ambivalent effects in one pack.
Anyway, it will take me some time to get back to the VisualV and some other mods. I should have listened to those people who'd already compared VisualV and Redux. We never learn from someone's mistakes. :)

@robi29 Well, the problem is (maybe it's not a big deal) not that it's not dark enough under the water but 'cause it's getting even brighter (more brighter then right under the surface) when you're goin' deeper. It should be vice versa i think.
Thank you for you time.

I'm pretty sure he "borrowed" some stuff from other mods not only from VisualV to his pack. The worst part is there's no mention or credit for original authors, like he made it all from scratch.

At first I wanted to say that Romito did mention that he built his mod on top of VisualV, but then I remembered that it was NaturalVision, not GTA 5 Resteal.

No offense, but so he just took your values and that's it? No to say that you didn't put a lot of work, but that's like berating a person for using the same keybinds as you.

I have been using VIsualV since its inception so I could visually see the similarities.

No offence, but he only took your cake that you made and passed it off as his own, but that's like berating a person when you can both just go and buy a cake.

I'm willing to bet the prick stole stuff from my mod (Various Vehicle Tweaks, Fixes & Improvements) & also Law Enforcement Improvements, done by a few friends of mine & friends of friends.
What really pisses me off is the fact he's doing this all for profit and he's getting away with it on top of that. Even the official site for it is loaded to the gills with ads and spergs out if you have Adblock enabled, which pretty much exposes his narrative right then and there. All the sh*tty journalist sites are writing articles about it praising it acting like every other mod for V is insignificant or never existed. (In one article specifically I remember some dumbass journalist going on about how "DA MILITARY COMES AFTER YOU AND ALSO THE FBI WOW", geez - what mod did that before, totally not Law Enforcement Improvements/The Sixth Star)
I wonder how much he's paying those idiots on PCGamer and all the other sh*tsites to shill it - f*cking sickening. With how much of a shady prick the guy is i'm betting he put a bitcoin miner in the mod just to profit off the stupid f*cks who download it.
Annnnd he deleted the top rated comment on the vid pointing out everything in it is stolen + the replies. It figures. Thought it wouldn't take that long.

Now he's really going at it - comments are vanishing left and right. Talk about damage control.

While a valid complaint, I think values is pretty low in the priority of things to outrage about. However the mod needs a second look to see if any code or textures are stolen. Given his history there is more yet to find.
