I think we need to find players that like to play with each other, and will work hard for each other. Our attackers have no chemistry at all. I feel like it should be obvious in practice who gels together, instead we seem to be playing the tallest most physical team we can.

I'd love to see Memphis given a chance, stick him on the right and tell him to whip that ball in to ibra and rashford. Rooney and the midfielders are the biggest problem. Pogba must be given the freedom and position he needs. Which is one deep lying midfielder and 2 cm's. Put him with Herrera id say. And I know shweiny is blacklisted but he would honestly play well next to pogba imo

It isn't the players.

I remember Terry Venables taking over England and saying right then that the only change that team needed was when a player got the ball, everyone else needed to find space to give them options.

Same here. We have good players, bar a few lack of confidence performances - but there are constantly no good options for the man with the ball.

It's about the team as a whole, and until this gets fixed picking a different formation or dropping a scapegoat won't do a thing.

Mourinho needs to be criticized.. He has had full summer and financial backing to get the players he wants. He has been always known as a manager to bring instant success, he has also known to not play a very expensive brand of football but be solid defensively. At this point, I don't see any of these things happening, is it the players? is it the system? whatever it is, it's up to mourinho. One thing, I am not able to understand, how Pep or Klopp can go to City and Liverpool and implement their system so quickly. I am not talking about success of the system, I am talking about having a system. We all can see how Pep wants City to play or how Klopp wanted to Liverpool to play after he was appointed their manager. In case of Pep, along with the system, the success is there and with Klopp system is definitely there and looks like they are on their road to be successful. I don't see a system with us and that's what troubling me. Today also, in first half, we were taking the ball wide and getting crosses in, when Moyes did that, he was criticized heavily..

I want to contribute to Pep vs Jose debate and till now Pep has left Jose behind in one way. Making big decisions. Pep knew from first day, what system/brand he want to play and if a club legend didn't fit in his plan (Toure, Hart) he dumped them, not a blink. I was expecting the same with Jose but he has disappointed me. He said Rooney will play 10, I don't see him playing as 10, he is playing deep like he did for England and results are for all of us to see. Just think about this, will Rooney get into Pep's City team? I doubt it. We have players to play better system, better game of football, it's up to the manager to pick them. Jose, it's time to show what you are made of. When Jose was managing Real or Chelsea and we used to play them I always felt his teams were unbeatable and I hated him for that. I don't get the same vibe now :(

Moyes was criticised for continuing to do it when it wasn't working against two of the biggest CB's in the league at the time. Mou at least changed it up when it wasn't working although I think the deliveries were what let us down today, that Fulham game the deliveries weren't that bad but they just kept going straight in the area of the CBs.

Rashford kept getting into good spaces on the right wing today but as he's not a winger his delivery was often poor.

Valencia has returned to his shit crossing ways, he had a lot of time to get his crosses in as he was constantly left on his own but still managed to hit the first man so often.

Smalling and Bailly need to win more duels in the air, same for Zlatan.

We need someone operating between the opposition lines of defence and midfield, we either have players waiting for a cross or sitting deep.

Shaw kept getting caught out position wise but because he's faster than 95% of players in the league so he managed to recover the ball most of the time. He did get some good tackles in however.

I also think when most of the 50/50 challenges are going against your team you can become demoralised quite easily and I think it showed today. Obviously they should be better mentally but as we've seen over the past 3 years this team doesn't have a strong mentality at the moment. I think Mourinho will fix it but people expecting miracles will be dissapointed. I know Mou said we were title contenders but I'm sure he was just saying that to encourage the players to take up the challenge.
