Perfect example of propaganda. Worth a watch.

We are exposed to western propaganda every day. What's the difference?

The US treats China in exactly the same way. They continually paint each other as giant shit holes. Neither country gets a pass in my book. Both countries have very redeeming qualities.

I've been to both countries and China is a shit hole with few redeeming qualities. I lived there 6 months and I never want to go back.

You didn't get out much or stayed in just one place I take it. I've travelled all over that country and there are some really amazing places there. I went there with really low expectation thinking it would suck. It definitely isn't anywhere as bad as western media portrays it.

I didn't move around as much as I would have liked to, but I did spend a good amount of time going to as many historical sites that I could visit. This was the best part of China: The past. I saw a number of Pagodas, the fake former palaces of emperors, terracotta warriors, great wall, forest of stiles. Lots of cool stuff from the past mired in a country of bumpkin-by-government-policy types with no intellectual background or education to acculturate themselves, just ruthless capitalists with socialist labels, administered by a corporatist state regime (the government is the worst public entity I have ever encountered).

You know, I think most governments are very horrible, so I don't let that get in my way of seeing the beauty in each country. Western Europe may be the least shady, be the US government is downright evil. My favorite country that I wish I could move back to is Turkey and they are one step removed from a Nazi dictatorship.

There's just not a lot you can do about governments, but definitely both US and Chinese governments are modern villains.

I feel the same way about Turkey, it's so counter intuitive to want to be there given the present circumstances but here I am, wanting to go back.

Dysfunctional maybe, but evil? Let's not get carried away.

It's normal to be conditioned to not see the US for what we are. We position over 800 military bases spread across the world and basically take what we want from other countries using both economic and military power and threats to do so.

What we have done in other countries is so despicable. Can you imagine living in the US and having another country bomb your family because that country told the world they are fighting terrorism and some collateral damage is okay, they just needed to root out the crazy christian sect that is spreading terror?

What we do is absolutely deplorable. It is amazing how well propaganda works and how so many people think it is okay to do what we do. But for you, it is okay, because terror, and brown skin, and different religion. Who cares about those families. It's worth it, right?

Someone one would do it anyway. And the overall stability and trade benefits is nothing to scoff at. I used to think like u, but the u.s is not a human being its just a concept. If the u.s were one human entity and was doing all the things u said then yes u got ine bad person, but its much more complicated than that. Look at ghadafi he was oppressing his ppl. But he was also creating a baseline lvl of stability in spite of his misdeeds. The way things move in reality is not blk wht. That being said if ur really upset go do something to make 100 ppls lives better. Thats do able in a life time. Imagine if everyone made 100 ppls lives better. Better than this activist nonsense horseshit ur spewing

Wow, what a terrible reply. Someone else would do it anyways? So Hitler and the Nazi's was okay with you then, because if they didn't try and take the majority of the world during the 30's and 40's then someone else would have?

I used to think more like you, until I went into the military, got myself a TS clearance, and was able to get a clearer picture of what goes on in other countries.

I wouldn't call it activism if I decide that I will no longer accept our country as doing good. The only good we care about is for ourselves. We are one of the nastiest countries on Earth, but with our money, technology, and cultural reach, we have found ways to make ourself pretend like we are actually the hero in the story. Nothing wrong with pointing out the reality of it. I am not sorry if it makes you feel bad for being duped.

Lol, okay. Tell that to every country in the middle East, east Asia, and Latin America. Tell that to the millions of Americans rotting in jails, many for non-violent, Victoria drug crimes. There is no metric by which to judge China's gov as evil that wouldn't equally apply to the US gov.

I lived in the US for a couple of years and thought it was shitty enough that I never want to go back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You must be Canadian...cause Canada seems awesome. Well, except for snow and cold and stuff. :)

Alright, find me a doc called "China worst place on earth" financed by the Democrat Party (or the republicans, whatever).

[–]Dixzon 8ポイント9ポイント  (0子コメント)

Just watch a documentary on their dog eating festival. The one where they transport and kill the dogs in the most inhumane ways you can think of, like chopping limbs off while they are still alive.

That is not how you are spoon fed propganda into your asshole in the US. The news channels are what are used here. Rather than one documentary, you get spoon fed every single day. When was the last time you ever saw anything positive about China on the news channel? I never have.

Look at any american movie about war. It's always the great mighty American who fights against the evil foreigners. Currently the evil foreigner is the Muslims, but before it was the Japanese, the Germans, the communists, the Chinese and many others.

Why the fuck is China castigating the U.S. for privacy and human rights violations? Tianneman square, you asshats.

Funny how a lot of people are anti-america (even western countries) but don't realize that the US has played a major role in getting you to be here on Reddit.

[–]TheSummerain 6ポイント7ポイント  (1子コメント)

Playing apart of what got people on reddit has nothing to do with why people are Anti-American.

The average American citizen is great. I have always been impressed with the hospitality and kindness I receive when I visit.

The government, its foreign policies, its lies upon lies upon lies and the blatant corruption that no one does anything about. Then there is the country's weird relationship with religion and how religious nut jobs are ruining so much and spreading it around the world.

Just the tip of iceberg there...
