If vs Warford a Half a billion a year giant of football, with 350M worth of players in the pitch finds itself cursing the referee and the commentators, something isn't right.

Blame the strategy, the players, the manager - why blame 'football', what has Utd done in 45 mins - not a single shot on target, sure Pogba had a spectacular effort, but other than that don't you agree Watford deserve to lead, especially that comedy chance Ighalo punted wide.

We have no attacking plan at all. We all laughed when Mourinho said he didn't know where Pogba was playing against Southampton, but he wasn't kidding.

There is no sense to our midfield: What is a combination of Pogba, Fellaini, and Rooney supposed to do? We (should) have decent energy and risk from Pogba and Rooney, but then you'd want some calm and intelligence from a third midfielder, which isn't Fellaini's game at all.

What were Rashford and Martial supposed to do aside from "be good and run with the ball"? There's no tactical plan for getting them space to run into or to run behind. What's Ibrahimovic supposed to do? At the moment, we're just using him as a target man, but neither of our wide players are good crossers, and there's no link up between Ibra and the central midfield at all. None of it makes any sense.

    Inclined to agree. The players are there, positions we've been screaming to be addressed finally filled, yet for 3 straight games now I see a bunch of talented players start the game running around aimlessly. He often addresses 1st half problems but by then we are chasing the game.

    There are no excuses for not having a good year this year. Simply none. Couldn't have hoped for a better window so I hope he finds a way to get the best out of Pogba / Ibra / Rashford sooner rather than later.

    It's not the only problem, but Rooney is the biggest issue, he's not good enough as a 10 or in the midfield, but everyone knows that already. Having someone play either in the midfield or a 10 in his place would be so much better and bring more cohesion to the team. Either Carrick to manage the tempo or a proper 10 (Mkhi, Mata).

    There was a time when Zlatan won the ball and tried to drop it off behind him and Rooney was too slow coming from deep and costed us a chance at the top of the box. He's either too slow to drop so deep or he drops too deep that he can't fill his role properly. I don't know what that says about Rooney or the #10 role, but it's indicative of some of the problems we have with Rooney playing this role.

      I believe games like this show why Blind is vital in some games. In games where we plan to sit back and counter i agree that Bailly and Smalling are the better pairing (like the derby) however in games like this, he is vital in that he constantly gets the ball further up the pitch.

      Amen. He does the same job as Mascherano at Barca, he can defend but he starts off every attack and drives the play forward. Playing against big forwards like Deeney and Ighalo is no excuse, we all saw him dominate Lukaku last season.

      He gets less space because we never actually dominate the ball. Say what you want about Van Gail but we had good control over a lot of games. Martial would get the ball to feet on the wings 8 or 9 times a game with the full back to beat. I don't think he's had that many opportunities one on one near the opponents box this entire season. We have no one controlling midfield even though we have two players on the bench who can help do so.

      Rooney is taking up a position in midfield that is completely taking pogba out of our attack, and when pogba does get the ball Rooney isn't close for support.       OP Mourinho doesn't train intricate passing and movement to his players. All he does is work on positioning and defensive structure. He relied heavily on his players talents in Real Madrid and Chelsea for that.

      For most of the last three years we've always set up to negate the opposition - in this case it's the height of Watford. Just once I would like to see us play to OUR strengths, and that means playing someone who can PASS the ball at the base of the midfield three. Fellaini has done NOTHING and hasn't even won any headers!

      Other than than, Rooney has been shit as usual, Rasford hasn't started well and Young has shown more desire and energy than Martial since he's come on.

      Trying to control the tempo of a game without a good passer of the ball. Need a player like Carrick or Blind to be in the team to calm everyone down and put some sort of control to our play. Pogba and Fellaini don't seem to be able to do that at all. Even putting someone like Mata on might help, just anyone who has some sort of tempo to their passing.

      Team has no spine, its basically Fellaini at the back and Rooney up front trying, each trying to cover all the space in between. Neither of them is really playing their best position, which is ironic because Jose was quite vocal about wanting to stop that. And we are really missing Blind this game, Smalling and Bailly have been awful at distributing the first ball. As for the lack of communication, too many squad changes last few games, I really hope its a measured amount of experimentation from Jose since its still early, and not desperation.

      What's the plan? I don't see anything. LVG might have had a bad plan but it's was a plan he followed and it worked in the sense that we always had the ball. I have no idea what Jose is doing. However that doesn't make him a miricale worker. Right now I would take players from most teams in the prem over ours. No longer in the prem is it the top 4 have the best teams and the rest are shit, these smaller teams have great players that would get into our team.

      I mean honestly would Ashley Young, Rooney and fellaini be guaranteed starters in other prem clubs? No.
