LONG time lurker, but never really felt compelled to post anything. I've mostly been going my own way for years now and it's great. So story time.
I spent the day with my friend at his business lending him a hand. I help him out once in a while, he helps me out once in a while, it's great. I know all of his employees and they all know me. I notice he has a new employee. I just introduce myself as "Hi, I'm (owner's) friend" and she just says something like "Oh hey nice to meet you". I noticed she starts checking me out (it's obvious, but I ignore it). I should note I'm dressed in the most casual way possible. I introduced myself because it's just common courtesy and someone in a t shirt and shorts looks really out of place in that business casual office.
So things die down and I go to just hang out in my friend's office for a little while and he's in a meeting with a client or something. I'm there on my phone (coincidentally on reddit mgtow reading the thread about japan) and she just sits in the chair across from me with her lunch. The first thing out of her mouth is "so, what do you do". I respond with the usual boring truth I tell everyone that usually never leads to leading questions: "I own a business that sells parts for industrial machinery". Her eyes lit up and started asking me more questions. I kept the answers vague and as boring as possible. What kind of machinery? It's in the Material Handling Industry. Do you have any employees? I used to have about a dozen but I decided to downsize to just me because I like living a stress free life. Etc. etc.
I tried changing the subject to what are you doing. She responded with some bullshit about just working here to put herself through college but she really wants to be helping animals. I just said "oh ok. Well, I'm going to get myself something to drink, catch you later". The look of defeated on her face was priceless.
I still don't know her name and I'm not sure she knows mine. Seriously, AWALT.
