Are We ACTUALLY Assholes? (self.Gamingcirclejerk)

Time for a serious question.

So I know that this sub is mainly used to point out just how ridiculous the internet can be, when it comes to videogames, but do you ever feel like we go too far? I'm not saying that I feel that we always go too far, when someone on another subreddit or on NMA is being a jackass then he/she deserves everything coming to them, but do we mean any of it? I just feel like I've given my sarcasm and snark a little too much room to grow, you know? Like it's starting to define me. Does anyone else feel like this or am I just overthinking it? I'd like to know what you think.

This sub is still high quality, IMO. But, with any subreddit, it can lose quality as more people come in. Then outside opinions start getting shut out and the circlejerk starts, no pun intended.

No one knows if or when we'll become the people we're making fun of. Until that time comes, enjoy the jerk and don't take much of anything seriously.

In every group there will be people who take something way to far or serious. A prime example would actually be r/pcmasterrace

Place started as a joke and well....

So I feel like a good chunk of people just stay here and laugh at the jerking over No mans sky or witcher but of course there will people who take it to far and start attacking the jerker on the thread that might be linking. So its a hard question to answer just depends how people react

I am very thankful for this sub. As a game developer myself, going into r/gaming or the specific subs for the games I've worked on can be very disheartening.

When I see the content here, I understand there are people with another, more grounded perspective on games in general. I love how this sub calls out people on their BS.

I don't think there's any reason to change what goes on here.

I dunno. I'm new here relatively but this is the first jerk sub I've seen that actually mocks specific redditor's posts but I have always laughed my ass off when I see that happening. This is one of the better ones because there's some real strong gaming related jerks happening right now. Given the nature of Reddit, there should always be plenty of ammo. Are we assholes? Maybe. But we can laugh at the stuff that most people don't even realize they're a part of.

For the most part we don't seem to be attacking individual people for what they believe or if they like something we are attacking the group mentality behind it and how they act B R A V E for stating an opinion every already agrees with

Nahh don't think we would ever become a jerk our selves people here seem to be divide on game here for the most part like me I a bit critical of game and one of dem PC> Console types but I laugh and the PC Master race people along with you guys because I know the value of self critim and understating other point of view to be full on "Console suck and have no value + running gaming" TL:DR This place seem more like a place to mock then really state actual opinions imo
