Can someone please tell me what he offers?

I'm not as arrogant to believe that I'm always right so tomorrow I am going to watch him closer to see what he actually does.

It seems he is popular on here this year and it is possible I'm wrong about him, can someone tell me what to specifically look out for?

As for me he can't pass, doesn't really intercept much is very static and is all round a poor footballer. It seems the logic on here at times is that if someone is playing well then they deserve to play for United ? In this case I believe if he is playing to the best of his ability he STILL is nowhere near good enough for us, just because someone improves doesn't mean they are now good enough.

What is it you guys like about him ? As for me I dread seeing him in the team.

I don't want to rurn this into a petty, shitty argument as they bore the life out of most sane people. I'm just curious

I don't think he's the best player we have in the team but:

1) he brings an aggressive streak which is often lacking in our current team

2) he is better on the ball than he is credited, he might not be the best passer or dribbler of the ball but he can do a job

3) against city, he was our midfield in the first half. The number of times he put in tackles to stop them breaking with the ball was vital and a reason we were not further down at halftime

4) I think he does a lot of dirty work which goes without comment. Against Leicester he stopped Okazaki from winning flick ons of goal kicks, against Bournemouth he was so tight and aggressive on Ibe to stop him from getting settled and he seems to follow managers instructions closely.

Now I don't think he's the most talented player in the squad and we can definitely upgrade on him but I dont have a problem with him playing right now given the alternatives.

I agree, but wouldn't we need an actual CDM for that.

2) he is better on the ball than he is credited, he might not be the best passer or dribbler of the ball but he can do a job

In his recent games I've noticed that he passes sideways and backwards because his forward passes aren't that great.

I agree, he was our only midfielder first half of the game, he also lost balls to the opposition. I'm gonna be completely honest, he should be a substitute to Pogba because they are attack minded players that do much better going forward with the ball. We need a deep lying playmaker next to Pogba in the midfield or a destroyer CDM.

A proper CDM can bring the same attributes and better. Pogba can actually play that same role.

Overall he might be a good player but not United's level. He should be replacement for Pogba.

Didn't he have the highest interceptions in one of the games recently? I don't understand what you mean by he can't pass. Is he a play maker, spraying the balls to the wings, putting in balls in behind the defense? No. But he isn't that type of a player anyway. His physicality is pretty important for us too, defensively and offensively.

I think he sticks to the manager's plans really well. Which is probably why both LVG and Mou insist that he is a good player.

I don't care if you're holding or attacking. If you're playing midfield for man United you have to be able to pass the ball.

Not really, they can just pass to Blind or Pogba to find the pass
