Our Founding Fathers drafted the second Amendment to ensure a well-armed citizenry that is free to defend itself from a government that seeks to destroy their liberties. It was not written as with the intent to preserve the right to hunt! Our country can preserve its freedoms, because our leaders know that Americans preserve the spirit of resistance while we possess arms. The right of the citizen to bear arms is just one guarantee against haphazard government, one more safeguard against tyrannical government atrocities. At the heart of the original American ideal is the deep distrust and suspicion the founders of our nation had for the government, distrust not always shared by today's Americans. However, if the founders did not believe the government would abuse our rights, they would have not provided these protections in our Constitution. when congress stated the right to bear arms as a people's right, it implied that the people could put themselves in a place of control over the exercise of this right. For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well organized and armed militia is their best security and anyone who takes positive action to counter the constitution as it was written is an enemy to the freedom our nation holds so dearly. "We The People" must ensure that the constitution is not destroyed. When see Americans whose opinions are that the people should not be armed, our worst enemy is sitting on our shores and we are all allowing them to attempt to dictate to us. They wish to destroy our liberties, freedom and sovereignty. In the spirit of the Founding Fathers of this country, “Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is a force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.” This has happened, though. Will you stand idly by while we are treated like a deplorable society or will you be like our Forefathers who were brave enough to rise to action and fight for what is rightfully ours but blocked out by the views of poor leaders who would fundamentally change our great nation? That is why brave men and women must take action or risk all American society stands for! Again in the spirit of this Nation, let Freedom ring from every bell tower, and if anyone does not like the ringing of liberty from the streets of the United States, then they should leave silently. Or we will all see the results of their servitude rather than the ringing of liberty!
