Julie Roginsky Ruthlessly Challenges Harris Faulkner Over Trump’s Birtherism Flip-Flops

screen-shot-2016-09-16-at-12-57-00-pm-650x414Today, the showrunners of Fox’s Outnumbered  decided not to cut to commercial for 17 and a half minutes. The battle between Harris Faulkner and Julie Roginsky was just that good.

The panel started out their show by talking about Donald Trump‘s bait-and-switch from this morning, which has been the dominant topic  of the day across all the major networks. After announcing that he would finally address “birtherism” in a speech, Trump allowed cameras to film a bunch of people singing his praises ahead of the speech. Eventually, he showed up and spent a few minutes dismissing the idea that he started the movement of people questioning the birthplace of President Barack Obama. He claimed his opponent Hillary Clinton was the one really behind it all. Some reporters revolted by deleting their pre-speech footage.

On the Fox show, though, Faulkner and Sandra Smith were playing soundbites from Trump and Clinton as they blamed one another for “birtherism,” considering both sides of the argument. Roginsky couldn’t take it anymore, so she spoke up…

…and kept speaking up, going head-to-head with the various panelists for a quarter of the shows one-hour runtime.

She repeatedly explained that there was “no evidence” to suggest Trump ever stopped believing in the claims that Obama was born elsewhere, which many people see as a racist attempt to discredit the first black president. She said that she wanted Trump to explain how he eventually came to the conclusion that the concerns about Obama’s birthplace were a sham.

“Why is that important?” Faulkner asked.

“What’s the goal?” demanded Smith.

Roginsky explained that it would be a good thing if the campaign would just answer a simple question.

Faulkner countered with a question about Clinton, but Roginsky kept pushing and demanding accountability from Trump until the very last second.

Watch above. Watch the whole thing.
