Our expectation assessment for this season (self.reddevils)

I am seeing some people saying things like we did well pressing, we played okay etc. for two games in a row despite the losses. What are your expectations of this team? I don't think we will win the league or even a CL spot if we keep playing like the last two games against better sides. Not even a chance! We are so far behind on the quality compared to other big teams. Barca rarely lose embarrassingly to smaller teams, Real doesn't, Juve , Bayern, even Arsenal and City etc. Manchester United has became the shell of its former self. tldr: we are shit and we need to start accepting it and lower our standards.

So you've picked a denominator instead of focusing on the bigger picture. Where we bottled Europe. Got utterly humiliated several times by other big teams the past few years and have maybe had 2 or 3 sound victories against them in return.

We had been "utterly humiliated" twice, by Arsenal and Spurs in the league.

I agree we failed in Europe, but a much larger part of that is down to LvG and his tactics, and in a small part also on the team.

But it is still stupid to say we haven't performed against the big teams. We've gone missing at the biggest moments, but that is due to LvG for me and not just the team.

Top teams? I thought we did quite well against the top teams (minus Spurs and Arsenal). It was the lower teams that gave us problems.

Lost away against Arsenal, but beat them with a team full of youngsters at home.

Beat Liverpool Home and Away.

Even draw against City at home, and beat them Away.

Sound loss against Spurs Away, and beat them at Home.

Drew both times against Chelsea. Could argue that we deserved to win both.

I have been let down many times in last 3 years. Most of us have been hurt over and over again so the pain becomes numb. That's when you realize the truth about our club.

Are you really being this short sighted? We haven't even had 5 games this season and you're already writing us off from winning anything. Both the losses we have had could, rather should've easily been draws if the referees hadn't been shit. Sure we didn't perform well enough today, but it is stupid to suggest we won't win anything. We have had worse starts and won the league before.

In football/soccer, those "could have, should have, would have" do not count. The same applies in life too, those words are the words of losers and the only thing is either you win or you lose, at the end of the day.

Let's be totally honest, we all saw the gap in quality between City and Us on the weekend. I was hoping the players would turned up today but it didn't happen. This is not a rare occasion, we have been this way for the last 3 years. Thus, I want some of our fans to know the gap in terms of quality that Utd is lacking. sure, we might win a FA cup or a league cup this year. Winning the EPL title would be a huge miracle based on how we have played so far. Of course, it could change but that is also a big if because of the quality of our opponents. Utd is the only team which has lost twice in a row this season so far. It wasn't even unlucky circumstances because we do deserved to be losing with our performances.

Of what, 6 games that we have played? Both the results were due to shitty refereeing. Granted city were better than us, but Feyenoord most certainly were not.

When mourinho gets his tactics right, we'll win games. Playing an injured mkhyi and returning lingard in one of the most important games of the season. Then setting up a defensive team against the mighty feyenoord is just poor tactics. Yes, it's early doors, and the players didnt play well, but he needs to get his shit together.

I don't think our team today was defensive at all. We played defensive but the players on the field were all strong attacking options. Herrera, Mata, Pogba, Martial, Rashford? That's a very strong front 5

We can still win the league but realistically we have a shit ton of competition for it We're entitled to win just as much as these teams City finally seemed to have translated squad quality into actual performance Chelsea are doing well especially Costa Arsenal are arsenal And l'pool are evolving in the right direction even if their defence is shite
