5 cards in any domestic fixture means a one match ban in the next domestic fixture your club has. 10 cards means a 2 match ban in the next two domestic fixtures. There's a cut off point (I think in early 2017) where 5 cards doesn't mean a one match ban anymore, but 10 cards still means a two match ban.

Edit: Had a quick look around and it seems that the cut off for a one match ban after 5 cards is the 31st of December, the cut off for a two match ban after 10 yellows is the 1st of April, and if you get 15 yellows you'll get a three match ban all season.

Unsure about the 5 cards, but other bans usually count towards FA competitions. So League, Cup, League Cup. Europe doesn't count.

5 is pl only I think. Whereas red card and Fa bans are for all English comps.
