I am 99% sure that no one in that thread has read any feminist work or biography or anything. I guarantee their exposure to anything feminist is via angry white dudes making 30 minutes youtube videos on why feminists want to take their vidya.

Egalitarianism suggests that men can be disadvantaged too, and this disrupts the narrative that it is primarily women who are disadvantaged.

However, from my perspective it seems the modern feminist movement has been invaded by regressive individuals who seek to control the narrative in a direction that is politically advantageous for them, rather that seek out whatever truth brings about the greatest harmony amongst people.

The original feminist movement actually stood for something, however the modern feminist movement in America seems to stand for little more than a widespread victim mentality.

Feminism doesn't like egalitarianism as egalitarianism is true feminism plus helping men achieve equality too whereas feminism is just for getting women special treatment over men

They aren't opposed to the word, they are opposed to the concept. There is a reason the largest feminist organization in the country is fighting against shared parenting and alimony reform.

Equal rights isn't what Feminism is fighting for.

In my opinion, it's because egalitarianism kinda makes Feminism obsolete, or at least it would look that way to a Feminist. Egalitarianism being every one should have equality of some sort, it's kinda like an umbrella term for most equal rights groups and whilst it's totally fine to be an avid supporter of one thing (e.g. Feminism), I just like to see equality as the one thing, which I think is the kind of Egalitarian mentality.

Much like Kanye West, Feminism isn't content being a social movement, it demands to be the social movement.

It's one part egotism, one part misandry. Some feminists truly and legitimately want to exclude men from even discussing the notion of equality. Others are incensed by the notion that the in-group they're a part of isn't at the top of the pyramid.

"Intersectional Feminism", for example, just seems to be a 3rd wave late realization that women's problems had mostly been addressed but race was becoming a hot issue again, so let's keep the name alive and pretend we're egalitarian while wearing the pink crap we already bought.

Feminism realizes that in order to have true equality between men and women, that women would have to give up any advantages they have that may be at the disadvantage of men. As such, they don't truly want equality, they simply want the same advantages as men, for men to give up any advantages which put women at a disadvantage and at the same time keep any advantage they have that disadvantage men. They want the best of both worlds. They CANNOT and WILL NOT admit this as it flies in the face of their "equality between men and women" mission statement.
