Isn't it also odd that just as /r/the_donald was featured in an article on MSNBC a mod they talked to tried to sticky a post allowing racism and Nazis to post.

And at the same time another mod of the subreddit they talked to made sure to defend being anti-transgender on /r/conspiratard getting all the meta subreddits to focus on who runs /r/the_donald.

And not only did /r/Sweden start posting anti-/r/the_donald posts that somehow got enough votes to fill /r/all the mods were perfectly okay allowing it to happen.

It's almost like there was a plan to make sure Donald Trump supporters looked crazy to the readers of MSNBC and other parts of Reddit alike.

But who would make a couple "conservative" personas on Reddit in an attempt to undermine conservatives gaining any power on Reddit while also being involved in the group pointing out what the "conservative" personas do?

I'm just asking questions. ;)

free speech

Incorrect.

It is "free speech" I am against, you know the type people claim they have on private websites so they can say whatever hateful things they want without repercussions.

"Free speech" is also what many of the few actual Europeans on /r/European claim they have as they break hate speech laws because hate speech isn't protected under real free speech in their home country.

I wonder if any groups informing those countries who's laws were being broken that their existed a subreddit openly breaking the law, users talked of violent attacks, and a mod even went as far to say he personally attacked people while also being under terror investigation. What if multiple of those agencies replied they were now investigating and others said they were already investigating?

That subreddit continues to grow more extreme with more rule breaking and no action from that admins though. Doesn't that mean nothing came of contacting them?

Or does the warrant canary disappearing signal that they are using the subreddit as a honeypot to collect information on extremists now?

I'm just asking questions. ;)

Hate speech is a poorly defined concept at best.

Pretty well defined no matter how many times "free speech" advocates try to use that to justify what they say isn't hate speech.

however it applies primarily to Inciting violence.

Do you know what can fall under inciting violence in hate speech laws though? Just offending or insults can be considered inciting violence as far as the law is concerned.

Free speech is the right to hold and express controversial opinions.

That is "free speech." Real free speech is the right to have and express options your government says you are free to have/say without the government punishing you.

That means of the government has a hate speech law anything under that law is not protected by free speech and the government can act.

It also means that Reddit blocking hateful communities and banning hate users wouldn't violate free speech. The only thing violated would be "free speech" which doesn't really exist.

The right to free speech is why MLK wasn't locked away for life as he shared his controversial opinions.

Again you mistake "free speech" for free speech.

You're just pulling shit out of your arse to make you look smarter and more effective than you are.

Says the person using the Internet "free speech" as if it applies to real legal free speech.

Just offending or insults can be considered inciting violence as far as the law is concerned.

At least be consistent.

In some countries offending comments ARE inciting violence just as insulting comments ARE inciting violence.

A Golden Delicious IS a type of apple while Honey Crisp IS also a type of apple.

Your claim that you didn't realize things could fall under categories and multiple things could be under the same category isn't going to help at your trial or with the normal public.

You look up what your country allows under their free speech laws. Still confused look at past cases for precedent.

You look up what your country allows under their hate speech laws. Still confused look at past cases for precedent.

You now have exactly what violates hate speech laws and what is allowed under the free speech laws unless a law is altered.

Realize no one else but the government has to recognize your free speech rights so people can remove you from their property such as a store or website for your conduct.

Realize that you can be found guilty of violating those hate speech laws for what you say on the internet just like if you said it in person in public.

If you still don't understand I am sure a arrest would sort that out quick.

FREE SPEECH MEANS THAT YOU MAY SAY WHATEVER YOU LIKE WITHOUT ANY REPERCUSSIONS. If you deny that, you should go see a doctor. Saying that free speech can be limited and still be called free speech is like saying that you can own cats except for the ones that meow.

hate speech isn't protected under real free speech in their home country.

"real free speech" is what I defined it as. There is no free speech in Germany, just like in North Korea (probably your favourite country). Also, reddit.com is based in the US, so only US laws apply to it.

Also, any threats are forbidden by reddits rules, and therefore banned by /r/European also.

EDIT: Congratulations to ToKKKul, who is breaking the rules and organizing a brigade (although it was relatively small). I saw the post he made on /r/topmindsofreddit , where he claims that some speech isn't allowed by reddit. Well, I've got news for him: brigading is also forbidden! EDIT 2: It wasn't ToKKKul that said that free speech isn't allowed by reddit, but some other lunatic.

Nah. The First Amendment, which is radical by European or Canadian standards of free expression, has a couple of exceptions, cases in which the government can suppress speech based on the idas conveyed: incitement to imminent lawlessness, child porn, obscenity (haven't seen much repression there in recent years but it's still good law), and the less-protected commercial spech. Government can also subject any speech, particularly political activity, to reasonable restrictions on the time, place, and manner of expression: no bullhorns after 9:00 pm, for example. Some state constitutions are a bit more absolute in protectng free expression, but neither the states nor the feds let you do as you please.

And as for Reddit, it's a private entity and it can do whatever it likes, whenever it liked, including prohibiting certain types of speech completely. Didn't we have this discussion five or six times already?
