Why do people love them so much? Especially the old ones?

They're less efficient than basically all non Trucks/SUVs, they're slower and faaaar less maneuverable than sports cars, and they're way more expensive than cheap cars.

What is the point?

Of course, but it's generally considered tacky to show off a prostitute. Or at least it is in America, I don't know about all the other backwards countries out there.
