Increasing the capacity of Old Trafford (self.reddevils)

Since our debt has decreased to 260m, we are generating record revenue and we are financially strong.

Not only that we are 3rd(below BvB and Barca) on the list of average attendances in European football.

Don't you think its time to increase the capacity of Theater of Dreams.

It would be great if we will increase 5-8K seats.

Just because the debt is decreasing doesn't mean we should incur a big cost as adding seats. 75,600 is big enough in my opinion. Plus adding more seats could possibly ruin the looks of the stadium. The money we would theoretically spend on increasing the seating on a already huge stadium can be used for other things pertaining to the club.

There is no way the club can extend the south stand for a large number or reasons, mainly the cost of the stand having to incorporate the railway station, have to be built over the railway lines and the fact the council doesnt want it to happen.

Old trafford is at as big as its going to get. The only thing they could do is build the 2 remaining corners up but youd be adding 5000 seats max at a high cost and I cant see it being done unless the club as thinking of ways to do the south stand.

Yeah, it's only rumors and dreams of course. But we will see in the future if something happens. It wont be this season anyway

Why is this guys comment downvoted? it responds directly to the subject of the thread and lists reasons that expansions not feasible?! Its actually the comment that adds the most information on the subject so far.
