I feel like this raises a great point in "built worlds"

The algorithm developed for NMS is truly an accomplishment, but we have to question how the devs feel about the world they've "created" when really all they have done is create environmental assets and textures.

Those take a lot of work to do, but if you asked Sean Murray right now what his favorite spot was in NMS, he's say, "Cor, I'm not sure I can say, not everyone will ever see it."

That's the thing about procedural generation, is that developers didn't pour hours and hours into creating one environment or area, and so they have very little emotional connection to the finished product.

Ask anyone at Bethesda what their favorite location in Skyrim was and they'd have a solid answer, can't do that with NMS.
