Dragon Age: Inquisition stands as the only RPG made in the Frostbite engine. While BioWare's Mass Effect team is taking cues from the openness of environments, they're also looking at Inquisition's quests -- both what worked and what didn't.
"We learned that there were some quests in Dragon Age that didn’t resonate and were kind of flat – fetch quests and stuff,” says Flynn. “The nice thing is, you take those lessons, you package them all up, and you talk to the Mass Effect team and say, ‘These are the things you should do, these are the things you shouldn’t do.’ And the Mass Effect team get the pencils out and they build all that into it.”
I am so excited for ME, but DA:I's quests and general design is a thing of nightmares for me atm.
It helps that you pretty much don't have to do them at all.
They used the same line and PR and marketing with Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2.
It's worth seeing through. I really like that game.Originally Posted by DanielJr82

The main story isnt bad at all, worthwhile seeing, but yeah that gameplay loop... evertyime i start the game up again, and i do this at least once every two months, i end up rage quitting.Originally Posted by DanielJr82

Anyone know of a mod for the game that removes the need for collecting crap? Just that little bit might get me past the shitty quests and mediocre combat to enjoy the good story bits and the cool dragon fights which i never finished.
good idea
ME2 had a dumb human reaper, DA 2 was a joke with enemies literally spawning in front of you, Inquisition was more mind numbing than Kingdoms Of Amalur and ME3 was no longer an RPG by any stretch of the imagination and the ending was a piss take.
Devs are gamers and too, no doubt they did. Andromeda had been in development for years when The Witcher 3 was released tho, so I wonder how much flexibility they have to change designs decisions.Great news. Hope they also played The Witcher 3.
Mass effect 3 is an improvement on almost every gameplay mechanic over ME 1 and 2Every time BioWare say they listen to feedback their games get worse.

To be fair, they do pay attention to what people are saying and work with it, even if the reaction might be a misfire.Every time BioWare say they listen to feedback their games get worse.

Most bioware games I've played tend to be pretty radically different from its previous entry. They aren't a studio that makes the same game twice, even if the response to criticism might not be optimal.
Nah, ME2 is magnificent, but I lol'd at it not being a good game because it features the human reaper, great argument there.DA:Origins and the original Mass Effect are the only good games in the series.

Lets wait and see Im a bit sceptical
I really wished I liked Mass Effect, DA next is going to be such a long wait.
Witcher 3 and Baldurs Gate 2 had some of the best side content I have ever played.Yeah we get it.
Also this is Mass Effect lol. Why would it ever play like TW3.
Deus Ex MD was pretty good recently too. The ooint is to eliminate trivial collectathons and bake meaningful story into the side missions.
The plot to ME3 wasn't very good, but I don't know by how any measure someone could call Mass Effect 2 a better game than 3. ME2's a better example of that 'feedback' PR going wrong with how much they stripped and how unsatisfying and boring the core combat still felt.Every time BioWare say they listen to feedback their games get worse.

They're actually pretty good at not repeating the same mistakes twice. They're just even better at introducing new mistakes to replace them.Every time BioWare say they listen to feedback their games get worse.
