As things are unravelling for the media, a few things are telling:
Chris Wallace states (and many agree) that it isn't his job as a moderator to fact check.
In our current environment he is right. "News" is whatever bullshit is spewed and he and his ilk are nothing but stenographers. Can't have bias!
On the other hand, journalists have the duty to report factual information to infirm the public. To not do so is a disservice.
Sad to say, THE LATTER IS WRONG.
The "Media" has never been held to any sort of standard, and gas only looked out for itself.
They only care about things as it relates to thy email. No press conferences??? What the fuck?!?
When in reality, the Hillary campaign is keeping voters very well informed. What they aren't doing is helping reporters stay relevant by getting a "scoop".
At this point, why should Hillary grant ANY favors to the MSM?
Because the Media's first goal is to protect itself. If limits on press freedom are suggested, they come out and denounce it.
But surveillance of private citizens? Page seven, under the fold.
Here's a headline: "Emails Revelations a Problem for Hillary" but then, buried in the text is the fact that no new information is discovered (or shows that she was honest) but in the fucktard's opinion it is a problem because there is new information and partisans will use it.
FUCKING DUH.
Again, this is upsetting on your if you operate under t Europe idea t at it is the Media's duty to inform, and it isn't.
The Media, as it exists, sees its duty to protect itself.
They strive to seem balanced because it serves to protect them, not because it is fair or even.
Ask yourself after thirty years of tireless investigations and millions of dollars there gave been ZERO indictments of Hillary, but Trump (or his surrogates) can't be called liars in real time.
Conway actually confronted a reporter with, "Are you calling Trump a liar?" and the reporter backed off.
Why? Because to say, "Yes, Trump is a liar." means he won't con NE on, ratings drop, or it breaks decorum.
But Trump breaks decorum every hour of every day.
Without consequence in the Media.
Again, because it does not serve THEM to call him out.
